We are looking for a APAC qualified Legal Counsel to join our growing regional team in based in our shared service centre in Malaysia / Singapore ! Responsibilities
  • Working in close cooperation with all divisions of our Regional and Global Legal Team as well as with several
    other departments
  • Ensuring that applicable laws and internal standards in the area of Payments/Financial Services are
    implemented and adhered to across different markets and legal entities within the foodpanda universe
  • Working closely with foodpanda\'s APAC Payments team and management in further developing our operating
    model in different jurisdictions, especially in the areas of FinTech and Payment Initiatives
  • Coordinating with external law firms and help settle legal disputes in different jurisdictions in the APAC region
  • Managing administrative proceedings and acting as contact person for regulators in the region
  • Coordinating with local teams to interact with different regulators for clarity on payments legislation and
    regulations
  • Negotiating and reviewing partnership and cooperation agreements in Payments and Financial Services
    together with our payments team
  • Assisting in dealing with all legal matters occurring in connection with Foodpanda\'s payments business
    operations
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws degree with at least five (5) years of post-qualification experience and qualified to practise
    law in a common law jurisdiction
  • At least five (5) years of experience working in a law firm and/or as an in-house counsel in the digital
    payments domain in APAC, with in-house experience strongly preferred
  • Strong experience in managing all legal related aspects of digital payments
  • Strong experience in leading the application for and acquiring of digital payment licenses in APAC
  • Strong project management and organisational skills; coordinate complex projects
  • Very strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Able to work independently if required, and learn quickly and adapt to different roles in a growing team
  • A sense of urgency, pragmatism and a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Commercially astute, highly-driven and pragmatic, with strong influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively, and efficiently communicate complex legal
    concepts to internal stakeholders
