Our client is a tier-1 international insurance house seeking a new legal counsel to join the regional legal team. Concentrating on commercial insurance law, it offers broad exposure, including digital projects and regional partnerships. Responsibilities:

• Examine laws and regulations for intricate cross-border commercial insurance endeavors, spanning Singapore and other pertinent territories.
• Provide insightful, prompt counsel on commercial insurance issues to colleagues such as underwriters and claims experts.
• Oversee, construct, and broker various commercial insurance agreements, incorporating policy clauses, endorsements, and corresponding legal paperwork.
• Uphold adherence to relevant laws, rules, and company guidelines during the contractual process.
• Remain abreast of shifts in commercial insurance laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Aid in fulfilling regulatory demands and offer guidance on legal considerations impacting commercial insurance activities.
• Work with the Compliance department to establish and execute compliance strategies and procedures.
• Assist in the planning of strategic initiatives by recognizing legal challenges and possibilities and devising novel solutions that further business aims.
• Engage in steering committees or task forces for various projects.

Requirements:

• Commonwealth bar qualified
• 2 to 5 years of pertinent experience, preferably Singapore qualified; a robust background in corporate/commercial or financial services is valued.
• Superior analytical and creative problem-solving talents; self-sufficient but also team-oriented.
• Robust communication competencies, both oral and written; adept at legal research tools and MS Office applications.
