The CRO division develops and oversees the global framework for risk identification, control, reporting, and management within the risk tolerance for the various business activities for Julius Baer, aiming at sustainable growth of the franchise. As a member of the CRO division, the incumbent is expected to abide by relevant principles and expectations as specified in the CRO Business Organisation Manual.

The Legal Generalist will assist the Head of Legal Singapore with managing legal risks arising from the activities of the Singapore branch and its employees.

YOUR CHALLENGE

Core Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance to internal clients including advising on credit transactions, distribution of products, cross-border legal risks, bank policies and procedures, interpretation and implementation of legislation, review and drafting of contracts/documents, participation in working groups of bank projects as well as working with external counsels to manage transactions and potential litigation/litigation
• Provide legal support and services to the business to manage legal risks, facilitate transactions of the Singapore branch through proactive and business-oriented advice within constraints of legal and regulatory framework, protect and preserve the integrity and reputation of the Julius Baer Group

Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management

• Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, management of conflicts of interest, continuing professional development, compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

YOUR PROFILE

Professional and Technical

• Good LLB degree
• Called to Singapore Bar with minimum 5 years of PQE
• Experience in corporate and/or banking practice
• Good knowledge of Banking Act, SFA, FAA, MAS Notices & Guidelines
• Ability to provide independent advice to business and management on legal matters
