Logistics Manager

Coval Technologies is looking for a reliable, resourceful and experienced Logistics Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for all components of the supply chain, including the procurement of raw materials, liaising with the Company\xe2\x80\x99s tolling manufacturer, issuing invoices and arranging shipments (air and sea) to customers worldwide. The Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent delivery of goods and services while identifying possible obstacles that may affect productivity.

Coval is a two-year old startup company and is entering the ramp up phase of development. Successful candidates will need to be able to work in a fast- paced environment and deliver quality work. The successful candidate will report to the CEO and be involved in strategic decisions, to ensure the Company can achieve its goals.


Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all logistics, procurement and distribution of goods and materials.

Logistics Management
  • Scheduling and monitoring shipments to ensure that delivery dates are met.
  • Negotiate shipping rates with transportation companies.
  • Experience shipping class 3 dangerous goods is important.
  • Good awareness of customs procedures in Singapore and internationally.
  • Ensuring that all operations within the department are carried out in an efficient manner.
  • Coordinating with other departments within the company to ensure that materials are stocked, products are shipped on time, and customers are satisfied.
  • Managing the flow of materials through the organization\xe2\x80\x99s supply chain to ensure that products are delivered on time to customers.
  • Reviewing inventory levels and adjusting orders as needed to ensure that products are available when they are needed.
  • Developing policies that ensure safe working conditions and promote employee satisfaction.
Procurement Managent
  • Ensure any requirementsfor procurement are identified,approved and procuredin a timely, well- documented and cost-efficient manner.
  • Establish and update supplier database and as necessary arrange for preferred supplier agreements for types of supplies as well as services that will be demanded on a regular basis.
  • Source new vendors for better quality material, negotiate for better prices and payment terms and prepare the procurement support documents.
  • Use excellent customer service skills, establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors.
  • Manage performance and contracts of long-term and short-term suppliers.
  • Conduct continuous capacity assessment of implementing partners, analyze gaps and provide training to strengthen capacities.
Requirements and Skills
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proven Planning and Coordination skills.
  • A driven problem solver, always looking for the most efficient and cost-effective solution.
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret financial information.
  • Integrity and business acumen. Must be able to take control and be accountable.
  • Good communication skills, including fluency in spoken and written English.
  • A keen eye for detail and the desire to probe further into the data.
  • An energetic self-starter with resilience, pace, interpersonal flexibility and comfort with ambiguity to succeed within evolving and sometimes demanding contexts.
  • Ability to be flexible/adaptable in the face of changing priorities and to maintain a sense of humor.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and support company objectives.
  • Ability to deal with persons at all levels.
  • Ability to produce reports on a timely basis.
  • Ability to understand the budget and clearly delineate high value and volume procurement.
  • Good understanding of supply chain management and the interaction of Logistics and Procurement.
  • Proven track record of reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
  • Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business, logistics, or related field
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a logistics management role
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
