[What the role is]

DEPUTY MANAGER / PRINCIPAL ENGINEER (TEST AUTOMATION)

[What you will be working on]

You will be involved in the end-to-end testing activities of an integrated e-payment system and developing of solutions to automate the tests. You will be involved in multiple fare system projects from the planning stage right up to project completion. With a good understanding of the testing lifecycle, you will plan resources to validate systems and automate them such as to be able to effectively optimize the test efforts and improve on test efficiency.

To carry out this job role well, you need to be interested and constantly be kept up to date with evolving technologies and innovate feasible solutions to continually improve on test effectiveness and efficiency through automation. This job would also appeal to someone who is inquisitive to find out the root causes of defects and to devise means to mitigate the recurrence of similar defects through regression testing. As part of the job, you will be able to learn about the various ticketing systems deployed at Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s public transport and provide valuable contribution to ensure the smooth rollout of new systems and enhancements.

[What we are looking for]

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Engineering;
• 10 years of functional and non-functional testing experience in complex projects;
• Experience in end-to-end test life cycle from creation of test strategies, test planning, monitoring to reporting of tests;
• Ensure the quality and timeliness of testing assignments;
• Work closely with Project test lead to minimize duplication of effort;
• Identify project risks, work collaboratively to mitigate and resolve them to bring the project on track during testing phase;
• Provide inputs to management to enhance the quality of testing, testing efficiency, new testing approach, productivity improvement and thereby reduce the testing window/timelines;
• Facilitate regular team discussions on lessons learnt from incidents and identify best practices to strengthen the test processes;
• Identify test automation opportunities and work with the teams on execution of such plans;
• Develop skillsets of the team on automation and performance test tools & utilities;
• Deliver key technology enablers & testing transformation initiatives as planned;
• Able to work closely with other team members (Project/Development/BA/Support) for test automation;
• Demonstrate good analytical problem-solving skills;
• Able to work well both independently as well as in a team with good written and verbal communication skills;
• Hands-on experience in application development and/or test automation would be an advantage;
• Experience in micro-payments or Automatic Fare Collection systems using Smart Cards would be an advantage;
• Certification in software testing or automation frameworks would be an advantage
