About the role

• Lead team of maintenance Engineering Assistants (EA) for effective implementation of the Preventive Maintenance program.
• Provide technical support and guidance to EA for diagnosing, troubleshooting; training; repairing plant process manufacturing equipment/machinery. Attend ad-hoc emergency call-back operations.

Key responsibilities include

• Supervision/Leadership
  • Ensure that repair and maintenance are carried out properly, safely and on time.
  • Set job priority, urgency, and timeline of tasks for subordinates.
  • Work planning to ensure that spare parts and materials are available.
  • Planning and coordination with production for major repair and overhaul
  • Arrange to sustain manpower to support the daily operation
• Costs: Ensure work is completed in the shortest time, minimize wastages and re-work.
  • Breakdown Maintenance
  • Coordinate with production on breakdown maintenance.
  • Support shift personnel in diagnosing and correcting equipment failure in breakdown maintenance.
  • Plan for urgent follow-up equipment repair.
  • Support shift personnel after office hours for major breakdowns.
  • Guide and coach the team member to deliver the quality RCA
• Preventive Maintenance
  • Maintain work system in Maximo System.
  • Review the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program.
  • Ensure that Preventive Maintenance is completed on schedule.
  • Planning and scheduling of Preventive Maintenance tasks for the team member
• Training and Certification: Lead the training and certification for the shift team member
• Efficiency Improvement
  • Execute equipment improvement and modification.
  • Analyze/Monitor equipment breakdown and plan, and schedule for improvement.
  • Make improvements to work methods and procedures.
  • Follow up on the KPI for the team members to measure the monthly efficiency of the members
• Overhaul/ Major activities: Plan annual equipment overhaul, FR & TR Roll replacement, CON, FT, ST, packing seal replacement and major service activities equipment improvement and modification.
• Project Work.
  • Coordinate improvement and modification works required for plant machinery/equipment and ensure complete all assigned projects on time and on budget.
  • Provide technical support for plant-wide capacity expansion projects taking into consideration of existing infrastructure, tie-in points and new equipment accessibility for maintenance.
  • Controller for issuance of Work permits to subcontractors and ensuring good Safety/GMP practices have complied.
  • Management of vendors, service providers as well as contractors for all projects and installation works.
  • On-site feasibility study in support of preparation of proposal including sourcing quotes; technical application and specifications.
  • Coordinating with functional teams on design and installation to meet Quality; EHS, Production and Maintainability requirements.
  • Propose improvement works targeting at cost reduction; improve efficiencies; productivity; Quality; Safety.
• EHS / Quality
  • Conduct internal GMP / Quality/ Foreign Material Audit and follow up with the rectification/improvement works to improve the Quality and GMP condition
  • Participate in customer audit / BRC / AVA and support with proper documentation/records to fulfill the standards and requirements pertaining to Calibrations and Maintenance Operations.
  • Participate as part of the Emergency response team and assist in conducting fire drills and assessment
  • Participate in the EHS / Quality HACCP team in the investigation; process risk assessment, CCP setup requirements and follow up with complaints corrective actions / preventive actions.
  • Measurement: Demonstrate the ability to analyze, solve problems, plan and lead others in problem-solving and execute tasks assigned. Experience in problem-solving and productivity tools is essential.
  
  

About you

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in leading a team of technicians for effective implementation of Preventive maintenance programs for plant equipment/machinery in a manufacturing environment; preferably with food manufacturing experience.
• Experience in CMMS (eg. Maximo) for Preventive Maintenance
• Good technical knowledge in M&E systems; troubleshooting experience control circuits, sensors, valves, pumps, motors, and machinery. Experience in management of vendors/contractors for installation works.
• Team player; with strong communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians.
• Strong planning skills with the ability to prioritize and proactively complete tasks assigned.
• Responsible and committed to leading team members to provide technical support on plant machinery/equipment for sustaining 24/7 continuous operation.
• Supervisory skills e.g. coaching, delegation, planning, etc.
• Leadership skills in leading others to achieve set targets.
• Good knowledge in troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical.
• Experience in the safety aspects of work in a food manufacturing plant.
• Maintenance and designing of Electro-Pneumatic System.
• Overhaul of Machinery, Fitting and Welding skills, Motor and Pump Servicing, Machine Tooling, and Basic Electrical Practices.
• Understand engineering Drawings and machinery manuals.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics for piping design (added advantage).
• Microsoft Office.
