Job Description


The Innovation & Enterprise Fellowship Programme (IFP) seeks to grow a pool of deep-tech talent in Singapore with capabilities to support the commercialisation of deep-tech research and bring nascent technologies to market. Targeting researchers, scientists and engineers (RSEs), the IFP programme aims to develop industry relevant innovation and entrepreneurial skills through both formal and on-the-job training.

At Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC), our goal is to discover and develop novel therapeutics by working collaboratively with public sector and industry partners. EDDC now has an opening for a highly motivated individual to be an IFP Fellow in our Alliance Management team. The successful candidate will undergo an 18-month on-the-job training programme that provides exposure to how successful and effective alliances are initiated and managed. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team that catalyzes and oversees the smooth execution of multi-institutional collaborative drug discovery and development programmes.

Key activities that the Fellow will be involved in include, but are not limited to:

  • Participation in initiatives to promote and enable joint drug discovery and development with public research performers in Singapore, such as the Target Translation Consortium (TTC) and the Singapore Therapeutics Development Review (STDR). The Fellow will work with teams within EDDC and A*STAR, as well as Technology Transfer Offices/Research Offices of public research performers.
  • Support of scientific outreach and initiation of new drug discovery collaborations by establishing and building relationships with EDDC\xe2\x80\x99s local partners in selected therapeutic areas.
  • Project selection and discussions with leading international drug discovery organizations that EDDC has partnerships with.
  • Management of multi-institutional research projects, acting as a liaison between the research teams and stakeholders.
  • Development of contracts like non-disclosure agreements and research collaboration agreements, and
  • Market landscaping and competitive analysis as part of project evaluation and planning.
Requirements:
  • Degree or postgraduate degree in Life Sciences or related field, with a minimum of 3 years R&D experience or equivalent.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess good communication and presentation skills, and proficient in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Well-organised and detailed-oriented bility to multi-task and manage several projects concurrently, with good time and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in complex situations involving multiple stakeholders across functional groups and levels; the candidate will need to be able to quickly adapt to change and shift gears as needed.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter, independent and self-driven.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and integrity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An avid interest in the healthcare and life sciences industries.
