Job Purpose

• To supports SMRT Trains in optimizing budget, revenue and cost recovery to support the organization to build a foundation for sustainable growth.
• To implement contract and claims policies and strategies to guide project managers in Trains CoEs and Lines to manage claims and cost recovery from projects initiated by government agencies and statutory board.
• To provide administrative support to corporate function to seek and recover rail related grants and reimbursements.
• To streamline processes to implement audit checks on Trains CoEs and Lines contract and claims documentation
• To provide contract management support to Trains CoEs and Lines on contracts related to Rapid Transit Systems License

Responsibilities

• To lead a dynamic claim team with 3 executives/non-executives to support SMRT Trains in optimising budget, revenue, and cost recovery to build a foundation for sustainable growth.
• To provide mentoring and guiding to junior team members thereby assisting the Senior Manager in managing the team.
• To provide guidance to Trains Centre of Excellences (CoEs) and Line on seeking and recovering rail related grants and reimbursements.
• To analyse claim processes and identify trends/lesson learnt to maximise cost and income recovery.
• To streamline processes to implement audit checks on Trains CoEs and Lines contract and claims documentation
• To provide contract management support to Trains CoEs and Lines on contracts related to Rapid Transit Systems License
• To perform in-depth data analysis and checks on documentations for projects eligible for claiming authority\'s grant and reimbursement, ensuring deliverables and quality standards are met in accordance with corporate policies.
• To oversee billings for project manpower utilisation from projects funded by the Authority under Rapid Transit Systems License
• To guide project managers in Trains CoEs and Lines on claims and cost recovery from projects initiated by government agencies and statutory board.
• To supports process improvements programmes (such as KAIZEN)
• To be involved in ad hoc assignments as assigned by the Head of Resource Management

Qualifications & Work Experience

• Recognized degree in Engineering or any discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in Maintenance, Operation and Project related field, with 1-2 years in a managerial capacity would be an advantage.
• Possessed quantity surveying and project management knowledge would be an advantage.

Skills

• Possessed background knowledge or hands-on experience relevant to the SMRT or Rail/Transportation Industry is an advantage.
• Self-driven, meticulous, managed and motivated with the ability to independently handle multiple complex issues concurrently.
• Flexible but objective based approach to work and with the ability to set and meet targets.
• Proficient at producing and presenting reports and proposals.
• Ability to demonstrate innovation and creativity.
• Good leadership qualities, ability to work well within a team and influence key decision makers.
• Microsoft literate in the use, functionalities and modules
• Knowledge in SAP and ARIBA would be an advantage.
