Job Description


:

  • Implement SMU brand of transformative education through out-of-classroom learning in the co-curricular space with identified learning outcomes
  • Deliver and assess out-of-classroom student learning outcomes as developed.
  • Contribute to the review and refinement of both the pedagogical and system-interface aspects of the implementation.
  • Discover and Nurture Student Talents and Leaders
  • Manage and mentor assigned student clubs as assigned include but not limited to Broadcast and Entertainment, Ambassadors Corp etc.
  • Build rapport and work with the various student executive committees of the of the assigned co-curricular clubs.
  • Identify and recruit credible, committed and enthusiastic student leaders and the clubs\' members.
  • Work with students to win their trust and respect so as to inspire and motivate them to strive for excellence in their co-curricular participation.
  • Oversee the appointment of and manage ongoing relationships with trainers for assigned co-curricular clubs.
  • Implement and administer suitable training programmes for the clubs.
  • Guide clubs\' training plans (including online training) and their annual work plan with the respective EXCO.
  • Create for SMU students a wealth of opportunities to grow in their knowledge and performance of their craft and/or discipline(s), through partnerships and collaborations.
  • Lead assigned co-curricular clubs to participate in both local and overseas exchange when the opportunity arises, to establish SMU as a university that focuses on holistic education through co-curricular engagements.
  • Deliver to the SMU Community, Singapore and Worldwide the vibrant brand of SMU
  • Manage, as a producer, certain projects in university-wide marquee events, physical or online, such as SMU Patron\'s Day. The tasks include but not limited to:
  • Lead and mentor a student organizing committee or team, in areas such as Finance, HR, Operations, Logistics, Production Management, Partnerships etc.
  • Assist Head of Cluster in the monitoring of cluster and event budgets.
  • Coordinate and execute administrative matters related to events.
  • Draft ITQ brief for issuance of contract to any third-party vendors as directed, including ad-hoc hires.
  • Develop, draft, and modify operational workflow and SOPs, and AAR reports.
  • Provide supervision of production crew and/or other partner entities on SMU premises for SMU-organised events.
  • Develop relationships with external corporate and/or community partners with an aim for creative and/or mutually beneficial collaborations.
  • Participate in the execution of a results-driven, multi-platform marketing and communications strategy for events. - working with vendors and agencies to develop supporting assets
Qualifications:
  • Preferably University degree in Arts Management, Events Management, Mass Communications, Digital Media / New Media / Multi-Media / with majors in Production, Entertainment, Media Management, Arts Education, Technical and Production Management.
  • Candidate should have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in events management, specifically in the area of producing and/or production management.
  • Ability to work with young adults (19-24 years old) and build student leadership competencies.
  • Facilitation skills and knowledge of assessment of learning outcomes will be a key advantage.
  • Self-motivated with strong inter-persona and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate concepts and ideas well; written and verbal.
  • Possess strong organizing and coordinating capabilities.
  • Good contacts with the relevant Industry\'s Agencies and Officials to share industry best practices.
  • Keen interest in organising events and building relationships with corporate partners.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of financial budgeting and basic accountancy.
  • Have a cheerful and pleasant disposition, with the ability to work in a team.
