The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore\'s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.
Mandai Wildlife Group advocates for biodiversity, contributes leading wildlife research, develops innovative solutions to promote living sustainably, and collaborates with conservation partners in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
The Group provides funding and in-kind support to Mandai Nature for conservation work across Southeast Asia.
Mandai Global, an entity that is part of the Group, will establish and operate new lines of business anchored in creating positive outcomes for nature and wildlife.
The Manager, Horticulture will support and assist Horticulture Department in design review of the projects, exhibits, back of houses & public areas, resolving landscape site issues, working with other stakeholders, manage & supervise contractors for quality control & timely completion, cost estimate, budgeting, monitor, and control.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee horticulture operations to meet the original landscape design intent.
Provide direction and guidance to the team to achieve quality and timely completion of work tasks.
Transition Planning with development groups for Rainforest Wild Asia.
Monitor and coordinate with the Development Team for DLP management and record defects for timely clearance inspection leading the smooth hand over / take over.
Manage, inspect the ground daily and liaise with external stakeholders, including contractors to ensure contract specifications are achieved with timeliness and quality.
Collaborate and liaise with various stakeholders such as internal departments, vendors, consultants and relevant authorities wherever required.
Responsible to strategise and present proposals for landscape enhancements, development work, and conservation initiatives at various platforms including management and site meetings with various stakeholders, where required.
Conduct design review of proposals for existing exhibits, aviaries, front and back of house areas for cost analysis and lifecycle cost.
Analyse expenditure and propose budget for fiscal year, work plan, and explore digitisation initiatives to improve productivity and innovation.
Initiate and prepare necessary work requests, such as working with Procurement Department to call for quotations and tenders. Justify cost benefit analysis within allocated budget and recommend for the contract award, etc.
Any ad-hoc duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Minimum recognised Degree with Plant Science, Botany, Agricultural Science, Horticulture, Forestry Science, Environmental Science / Management, or its equivalent.
At least 6 years local relevant experience.
Accredited as Certified Practising Horticulturist, ISA certified Arborist will be an added advantage.
Prior experience in SESASMi and SAP will also be added advantage.
Good command of written and spoken English.
Proactive, independent and able to work in an outdoor environment.
