What the role is:You develop MINDEF/SAF\'s Strategic Communications (SC) policy, strategies, and plans to (i) safeguard public commitment to defence, (ii) build trust, and (iii) maintain support for National Service. You are responsible for developing key messages for public and internal communications, as well as community engagement.What you will be working on:On this, you collaborate with internal departments, ministries, and third-parties to shape communication messages. Your challenge lies in thinking critically and innovatively, understanding public sentiments, and making recommendations which show an appreciation of MINDEF/SAF\'s policy objectives while considering public sentiments.What we are looking for:You must have a tertiary qualification, preferably in mass communication or social sciences related fields, with a strong interest in communications. You must have a keen appreciation of the changing information environment both globally and locally as well as emerging social trends and prevailing public sentiments. You must also be analytical, possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills and a good command of spoken and written English. You should also demonstrate a keen understanding of MINDEF/SAF\'s mission and policies. Having prior experience in policy or a communications-related role, and/or possession of a Masters qualification in a relevant domain, will be advantageous. Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
