Job Description


:

  • Apply best practices to manage data acquisition, update, de-duplication and cleansing; research and enrich up-to-date contact formation and other details on alumni;
  • Devise innovative and effective ways to keep up with the professional development of SMU alumni on various online platforms including LinkedIn and news channels, to keep the alumni database updated;
  • Track data and trends across platforms (including social media and website), events, programmes and university-wide alumni engagement touch points;
  • Analyse alumni volunteerism, participation, activities, preferences and behaviours to inform and assess the effectiveness of engagement activities and initiatives;
  • Run queries, create detailed reports on data sources, methodology, analytical techniques, analytical results and insights for stakeholders;
  • Design visualisations and presentations for the dissemination of analytical results and derivation of actionable insight, including preparation of reports for monthly department meetings and quarterly senior management updates;
  • Prepare annual engagement metrics submissions as per standards by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
  • Assist other units in the university with enhancing the data culture and capabilities.
  • Develop data repositories and dashboards to enable key stakeholders to access regular reports;
  • Engage, train and seek feedback from end-users of data reports; and
  • Support and help out at SMU and OAR events when required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science or similar field, with at least 6 years of relevant working experience.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and critical thinking with the ability to articulate ideas with data.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management, administration and organisational skills.
  • Familiar with BI tools (Qlik Sense, Power BI, Google Analytics).
  • Conversant with CRM and automation tools (365 Dynamics, Power Platform).
  • Knowledge of database, ETL, data API concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (both spoken and written).
  • Mature and able to build and maintain relationships with alumni, industry partners and stakeholders.
  • Able to work under tight timelines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a high level of motivation and energy.
  • A dynamic team player with an innovative mindset and a positive outlook.
  • Able to work outside regular office hours occasionally.
