What the role is:You review and formulate National Service (NS) policies on resource allocation and deployment of full-time national servicemen (NSFs), ensuring optimal deployment of NS resources to meet critical operational and manpower needs.What you will be working on:- Review policies and guidelines governing inter-ministry and inter-Service NS resource allocation and recruitment issues - Formulate and review NS policies on resource allocation, deployment, and leadership selection - Maintain and update the Vocation Interest Framework for NSFs - Evaluate issues from MINDEF and national perspectives - Balance competing demands considering available manpower, national trends, social norms, and stakeholder expectations - Uphold key principles of NS while maintaining public support Challenge(s) - Making robust recommendations to balance competing demands with limited resources - Evaluating and making decisions on cases that deviate from policy guidelines - Communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including pre-enlistees, servicemen, family members, and employersWhat we are looking for:- Education in Human Resources, Political/Social Sciences or a related field is preferred - At least 2 years of experience in manpower, info management, and policy-related roles - Strong analytical skills with ability to see patterns, think fast, and consider policy implications - Resourceful, self-motivated, and able to work independently - Ability to manage different stakeholders and remain calm under pressure - Strong organisational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills - Initiative to pre-empt, identify, research, and resolve issues with tact and discretion Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
