Joint Operations DivisionPurpose of Job:You will be part of a team that is responsible for monitoring and evaluating inventory flows to ensure efficiency and agility of essential supply chains.Duties:
Your role is vital in building a strong and sustainable supply chain network and
safeguarding the operational viability of supply chains that addresses the needs of the public.Your responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Develop strategic initiatives and implement plans to ensure sustainable food security in Singapore.
- Maintain rapport on partner relationships and work with them to achieve sourcing targets/ logistical needs and fulfil capacities in the most cost-efficient and sustainable ways possible.
- Evaluate existing end to end life cycle management which includes procurement, storage, and sale/distribution plans by our partners and implement plan of action.
- Identifying risks and vulnerabilities as well as recommending service level improvements and initiatives that reduce costs, mitigates risks and losses.
- Work closely with internal divisions and to plan for potential disruptions and volatility in distribution and reinforce overall sustainability and resilience in the supply chain network.
- Perform surveyance audits on existing vendor to ensure the service level agreements are adhered to. This will include documentation and physical inspection which requires individuals to do offsite visits.
- Perform other tasks such as finance and procurement, conduct events etc
- Other tasks assigned by supervisorRequirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Supply Chain Operations & Management or
inventory management or related fields e.g. freight forwarding/commodities trading/food transportation/ warehousing/ transport planning, and preferably in an operations role.
- Previous experience in strategic procurement and contract management or logistics and warehousing operations will be an advantage
- Willing to work outside normal office hours
- Possess strong negotiation/communication skills, good interpersonal and writing skills
- Has initiative and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good track record of managing stakeholder relationships and making successful negotiations.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications such as Powerpoint, Excel and Words.Work Location:SFA@JEM Office TowerWe regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified for the interview.About Singapore Food Agency:The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is a new Statutory Board formed under the 'Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) to oversee food safety and security. The SFA will serve as the single point of contact for public feedback on food-related issues, and strengthen management of foodborne disease outbreaks to protect public health. The SFA will also facilitate more business-friendly regulations with oversight of all food safety policies and consolidation of food laboratory capabilities to deepen competencies in food diagnostics, and research and development in food safety.
