Job Description

The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Policy and Governance Operational Risk and Operational Risk Officers in discharging their accountabilities through delivery of the framework and infrastructure for effective management of operational risk for Transaction processing, Change Governance and Product Governance Risks.

This role specialises in second line oversight for Transaction processing, Change Governance and Product Governance Risk and includes design, embedding and governance of the Transaction processing, Change Governance and Product Governance Policies, as well as supporting on the Operational and Technology Risk Type Framework (\xe2\x80\x9cO&T RTF\xe2\x80\x9d) and associated policies and standards, and provide guidance and subject matter expertise.

The role-holder is responsible for supporting the development and enhancement of the policy and oversight of standards specific to Transaction processing, Change Governance and Product Governance to support all Businesses and Functions in line with the Operational Risk strategy.

This will be achieved through delivery of the following:

• Advice & Engagement: Offering a point of deeper expertise around more technical areas of Transaction processing, Change Governance and Product Governance risks. Provide guidance and training on various topics in the policy. Continuous collaboration with first and second lines to ensure the management and embedding of Transaction processing, Change Governance and Product Governance risks and adherence to policy minimum standards.

• Governance: Develop and inculcate the right policy, process, technology and governance architecture, in partnership with ERM and Group Management where appropriate.

• Regulatory and Audit: Lead the assurance activities to assess effectiveness and adherence of regulatory requirements, and ongoing monitoring and tracking of actions to closure.

• People & Risk Culture: Drive the engagement with Operational Risk enterprise-wide, supporting a culture that recognises and reflects effective management of Transaction processing, Change Governance and Product Governance Risks in its operating model and its decision making Processes

• Continuously enhance the Transaction processing, Change Governance and Product Governance risk methodologies, keeping abreast of external practises through research and participation in industry forums. Governance

• Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Requirements

The role holder will have experience in Operational Risk, specifically Transaction processing Risk within the Banking industry, including relevant regulation and industry trends. In particular, the role holder will demonstrate:

• A rigorous and analytical approach to risk management, with attention to detail and effective control execution and due diligence

• Experience in enhancing policies and governance

• Experience of business partnering, including the ability to synthesise and articulate complex and technical topics clearly to diverse audiences

• Technical understanding and experience in transaction processing and/or oversight

• Experience of assurance or audit (preferable)

• Ability to manage a diverse and challenging stakeholder community

• Proven experience with co-ordination of many dependencies in a complex, large-scale environment

• Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills

• Specific strong competence in the use of Excel for analysis of complex data and PowerPoint for communication purposes

Ideally the role holder will have specific experience within Transaction processing risk and have an in-depth knowledge of some of the key organisational and operational challenges faced by a Second-Line Operational Risk function.
