Job Description

Role Responsibilities
Strategy

  • Derive and help implement the CPBB Credit Risk Policies and framework in country with the help of respective process owners.
  • Responsible for country input for the expense and impairment forecast, including the Corporate Plan process and help drive the critical business discussions to optimise the book and shape.
  • Supervision of Risk Analytics Management Information processes including compliance to the standards and data quality management.
  • Operational Risk profile for CPBB Risk support in the implementation of ORF (or similar framework) and other non-financial risk management.
  • Support regional / entity level risk management reporting, stress testing and other associated responsibilities.
Business
  • Manage the key business information requirement required to run an effective risk organisation.
  • IFRS9 based ECL review and analysis for broader stakeholder alignment and pre-emptive risk management.
Risk Management Processes
  • Manage process standards for Management Information to compliance and alignment.
  • Participate in key Global programs like BASEL IV. PCI DSS and Innovation / Transformation.
  • 2nd LOD role for local and Group Stress Testing (leveraging Global Capabilities) to perform review and challenge on Basis of preparation, methodology review, model reviews and overall support to the process.
  • Monitor Credit Scorecards and support Group Risk Measurement Assurance in monitoring and development of Scoring and BASEL models.
  • Testing and monitoring grades and pools.
  • Analysis of summary reports from the firm's rating systems.
  • Implementing procedures to verify that grades and pool definitions are consistently applied across departments and geographic areas in country.
  • Reviewing and documenting any changes to the rating process, including the reasons for the changes.
  • Reviewing the rating criteria to evaluate if they remain predictive of risk (and changes to the rating process, criteria or individual rating parameters must be documented and retained).
  • Active participation in the design or selection, implementation and validation of models used in the rating process.
  • Oversight and supervision of models used in the rating process; and
  • Ongoing review and alterations to models used in the rating process.
  • Review and Capital / RWA, especially for Standardised portfolio. Provide assurance to Global Head Policy and Governance to perform the adequacy attestations.
Performance Management and Portfolio Review
  • Responsible for managing the loan impairment (LI) forecast for CPBB Credit Risk.
  • Coordinate the Corporate Plan process and forecast cycle for CPBB Credit risk in line with emerging trends.
  • Responsible for overall tracking of expenses and cost forecast for CPBB Credit Risk.
Operational Risk and Governance
  • Support CCH and the management team to implement Credit Risk Management Policy framework. Perform independent review and challenge to the policy and to ensure that all standards and polices are aligned with the target governance frameworks and enable effective controls
  • Embed the Group's values and code of conduct, as it relates to the role remit, to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture.
  • Engage with relevant audit teams (internal and external) report findings across the relevant functions and ensure feedback is acted upon.

  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Region, Country Business or Functional policies and procedures.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's university degree is a must and a post-graduate degree is desired.
  • 3+ years of functional risk management experience in Retail, Business Banking or Private Banking credit risk.
  • Active experience in Credit Risk Management or Model Risk is an advantage.
  • Appropriate academic training and / or experience in finance, business or Economics.
  • Good knowledge and grasp of banking practice, models, portfolio and risk management in Consumer Banking.
  • Strong understanding of the IRB models / scorecards across Retail and SME Portfolios.
  • Good understanding of the Credit Risk and Credit data.
  • Reasonable understanding on accounting principles of IFRS9, especially related to ECL.
  • Comfortable to communicate with senior management and other key stakeholders across different risk teams in the bank.
  • Ability to present complex information in a succinct manner to senior management.
  • Very good communications skills
  • Should know SAS / SQL / equivalent aside of having excellent Excel, Word and PPT skills.
  • This is key contributor role which will require very good planning and coordination to deliver timely and high quality.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
Market Knowledge
  • Substantial experience at the highest level in the banking industry, including demonstrated success in a similar role.
Risk Analytic
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of risk analytics including scorecards, Basel, stress testing and scenario planning.
Risk Management and Control
  • Demonstrated track record in successful management and ability to manage risk in geographically dispersed and highly varied product base. Expertise in process design and control.
Regulatory Framework and Requirement
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple deliverables with demonstrable organizational, project management and time management skills.
  • Well versed with various principle and other risk types, its implication of individual and business lending and for overall function.
  • Reasonable understanding on accounting principles of IFRS9, especially related to ECL
  • Problem Management Process
Non-technical Skills
  • Effective collaborative skills that contribute to positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including regulators and rating agencies.
