What the role is:
The Biodiversity Information and Outreach Branch under the National Biodiversity Centre is responsible for developing Community in Nature (CIN) programmes and outreach activities, biodiversity information products, coordinating and promoting collaboration and partnerships in enhancing biodiversity conservation in Singapore.
What you will be working on:
The successful applicant is required to plan, coordinate and manage CIN programmes targeted at schools, conduct Citizen Science programmes and work with volunteers to promote understanding and appreciation of biodiversity conservation and facilitate in fulfilling the CIN initiatives. The work will encompass coordinating and running the Greening Schools for Biodiversity programme, conducting training, managing and data collection for Dragonfly Watch and organise the CIN Volunteer Appreciation Session. Responsibilities also include managing loan of roving biodiversity exhibition and handling administrative matters.
What we are looking for:
Degree in Environmental Studies, Life Sciences or related discipline
Preferably with relevant working experience in developing and running biodiversity-related outreach programmes.
Has a strong interest in native plants, nature conservation, outreach and enjoy working in an outdoor work environment.
Expertise in horticulture and ability to identify dragonflies would be advantageous.
Possess strong interpersonal, written and communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate others
Self-motivated, creative and resourceful team player
Willing to work on weekends and after office hours
