Job Description

As a Manager for Public Education and Community Engagement, you will operationalise Singapore Hospice Council's (SHC) public education and community engagement programmes with the aim to influence, in As a Manager for Public Education and Community Engagement, you will operationalise Singapore Hospice Council's (SHC) public education and community engagement programmes with the aim to influence, involve, build and enlarge the community in raising awareness and knowledge of palliative care in Singapore as well as to educate and reach out to as many members of the public as possible. You will report directly to the Executive Director to translate directions and goals into strategic work plans and execute them effectively. This role will require the maintenance of good working relationships with other stakeholders consisting of SHC member organisations, Social Service Agencies (SSAs), corporations, government agencies, donors and volunteers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the full process of project management from budgeting, planning, execution to reporting and feedback (including tender process when necessary) for programmes and events, such as, exhibitions, roadshows, conferences, multidisciplinary forum and public talks. Facilitate the development of content, curriculum and initiate talks and trainings for different groups, e.g. community, religious, ethnic, schools, corporations and SSAs. Curate content for community engagement efforts, including but not limited to exhibitions, showcases, booths, collaterals, both physical and digital. Responsible for the recruitment, training, management and retention of volunteers. Manage and liaise with stakeholders and vendors to ensure timelines, standards and compliance. Ensure management of confidential information with proper filing and records of all activities, participants and contact databases. Conduct surveys, analyse and evaluate programmes, events and training courses to ensure SHC's mission is met. Participate in and provide support to committees or work groups when required. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Executive Director & EXCO from time to time. Requirements A degree holder with at least 10 years of relevant experience, with minimum of 5 years in a supervisory position. Possesses a clear purpose in wanting to serve the hospice and palliative care community. With excellent experience and track record in organising projects, events and training programmes. Possesses experience with partnerships and collaborations with community stakeholders. Effective leadership and supervisory skills with right level of autonomy. Excellent writing, communications and public speaking skills. Resourceful with strong pitching and negotiation skills. Prior health care sector experience will be an advantage. Familiar with virtual meeting & workshop platforms, Microsoft Office suite and any other project management tools.
