Job Description
What the role is:You will be part of the Singapore Botanic Gardens (SBG) Seed Bank team responsible for the seed banking operational and research work into preservation of germplasm for conservation purposes.What you will be working on:Specifically, you will be required to carry out viability testing for seeds banked and research into the storage of non-orthodox seeds through various lab techniques, including the use of specialised lab equipment such as differential scanning calorimetry machine.You will also be required to assist in the finetuning of seed banking protocols and preparation of data for publishing and sharing of seed bank\'s testing results to contribute to the scientific community on seed banking of tropical seeds.What we are looking for:
- Degree in Life Sciences or related discipline
- Preferably with prior experience in plant survey and/or tissue culture work
- Able to work in team environment, adaptable and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Good interpersonal, communication, management, and organization skills and able to multi-task
