What the role is:

The Strategic Planning (Planning & Transformation) team maintains an overview of MOM\'s work and collaborates with MOM divisions/departments to: (a) drive strategic planning through ensuring alignment with MOM\'s mission, vision and North Stars; and (b) enable transformation by driving, innovating and formulating Ministry-level plans to contribute to whole-of-government efforts in Public Sector Transformation.

What you will be working on:

The team\'s work includes: \xe2\x80\xa2 Horizon scans and futures research to understand plausible futures and articulate the potential impact on MOM, and help build future-oriented mindsets or capabilities \xe2\x80\xa2 Workplans and key planning platforms to facilitate strategic discussions and alignment on MOM\'s purpose, goals and strategies, e.g. Strategy Group retreats for senior management, workplan presentations and Work Plan Seminar \xe2\x80\xa2 Strategic engagements with external stakeholders, e.g. annual Tripartite Retreat, Head of Civil Service and Public Service Commission visits to Ministry Families \xe2\x80\xa2 Public Sector Transformation (PST), e.g. driving MOM\'s transformation, staffing the DS-chaired MOM Transformation Platform meetings, and giving MOM inputs to Whole-of-Government initiatives and updates on MOM\'s transformation journey

This portfolio requires the officer to apply a wide range of skills, such as: \xe2\x80\xa2 Strategic planning and conceptual thinking \xe2\x80\xa2 Engagement and communication \xe2\x80\xa2 Teamwork and collaboration \xe2\x80\xa2 Human-centered design \xe2\x80\xa2 Appreciation and application of technology \xe2\x80\xa2 Product planning and management The ideal candidate would be one who is open-minded, independent, and resourceful, with strong analytical and inter-personal skills, and a team player. To excel, you should be: \xe2\x80\xa2 Self-motivated and able to work independently, whilst exercising judgement to surface issues for guidance as needed \xe2\x80\xa2 Able to manage ambiguity and have a can-do attitude, with an inclination towards action and agile working and learning \xe2\x80\xa2 A team player who can work with others to find common ground, generate win-win ideas \xe2\x80\xa2 Curious, observant, well disposed to learning new things (including concepts related to tech and data), and able to discern and imagine as well as articulate the impact of new trends on MOM \xe2\x80\xa2 Able to analyse and synthesise diverse data and information to derive insights with practical applications to MOM \xe2\x80\xa2 Open to venturing outside comfort zones and taking calculated risks, to generate innovative yet pragmatic solutions. Relevant experience in strategic planning and futures research is preferred, but not mandatory. *PWDs are welcome to apply
