What the role is
As the sector champion of the attractions industry, this officer will be integral in developing and strengthening Singapore’s position as a leading tourism destination with a diverse mix of world-class attractions that drive visitor arrivals and tourism receipts. You will work closely with government agencies, attractions and industry stakeholders to drive the development of a competitive, innovative, vibrant and sustainable attractions industry. You will be responsible for the conceptualisation and development of new tourism sites by working with other government agencies to prepare suitable sites for long-term tourism development and securing interested parties to invest in the project.
What you will be working on
1. Planning and Project Development - Work closely with government agencies and internal business units to drive strategic alignment towards new attractions and tourism concept development and develop long term plans for future tourism needs as part of Singapore’s larger masterplan. You will play an integral role in shaping the key tourism concept at Jurong Lake District. 2. Business Development - You will be involved in investment promotion work, which includes engaging both local and international attraction owners, investors and hoteliers to pique their interest to invest and anchor new compelling concepts in Singapore. 3. Stakeholders Management - Cultivate and manage stakeholders across Jurong Lake District for development synergy, business growth and innovation. 4. Others - Play a strategic role within a team to set annual strategy, plans and budgets. Support marketing and industry development work where relevant. Key relationships: 1. Industry stakeholders (e.g. local and international attractions, IP owners, investors, hoteliers) 2. Government agencies (e.g. MTI, URA, SLA, JTC, EDB) 3. STB line units and regional offices
What we are looking for
• Analytical thinking and business acumen • Project management and strong organisational capability • Stakeholder management & relationship building • Resourceful, self-driven individual and a good team player • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for negotiation and pitching of ideas to agencies/ stakeholders • At least 5 years of relevant working experience with proven track record in similar role • Ability to think creatively for problem solving • Ability to handle complex projects • Knowledge in tourism, attractions and hospitality industry (for external candidates) • Good presentation skills • Data fluency
