About Venture Building (New Ventures)

EDB New Ventures is the venture building arm of EDB. Our aim is to support the creation and scaling of high potential new ventures from Singapore to become globally leading businesses. To do so, we are spearheading novel ways of partnering companies for their corporate venturing journeys and established global founders as they build their next ventures from Singapore. This includes embarking on joint venture building sprints alongside partner corporates / global founders, co-investment with corporates to risk-share early-stage growth of their ventures and active portfolio value creation support to scale each venture. We are looking for a Manager / Senior Manager to join our New Ventures team to support the marketing and communications strategy and execution for our venturing efforts for corporates and high-potential founders. This role includes brand communications, media relations, events management, partnerships, and content and digital marketing. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams in across EDB\xe2\x80\x99s international offices in key markets, to translate our work into business outcomes.

[What you will be working on]

Marketing Strategy and Monitoring

  • Develop and execute marketing and communications strategies that will help achieve our marketing and communications objectives (e.g. drive awareness and growth of new venture creation in Singapore)
  • Be a Brand Guardian for EDB on all New Ventures\xe2\x80\x99-driven initiatives (e.g. Corporate Venture Launchpad), ensuring governance of the Singapore business brand and its adoption and application across EDB and partner touchpoints, including events, digital campaigns, partnerships
  • Develop criteria to track, evaluate and optimise effectiveness of marketing and communications efforts
  • Measure and report on performance of all marketing campaigns, to identify trends and insights to optimise marketing spend
  • Keep abreast of media coverage on corporate venturing and related topics such as corporate innovation, transformation, digital and startup ecosystem trends.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for digital marketing, providing thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
Content Development and Partnerships
  • Support end-to-end communications initiatives to drive New Ventures brand ensuring key message delivery, such as press releases for project announcements
  • Partner with EDB\xe2\x80\x99s Brand Marketing and Communications team on the development and amplification of media materials through EDB-owned channels such as website, LinkedIn, Email Newsletter/EDMs
  • Lead content creation strategy and develop assets (messaging, proof points, slides, etc.), by working with internal stakeholders and external partners to produce and repurpose content assets to engage target audiences across different channels
  • Identify media and speaking opportunities across relevant online and offline platforms for (a) New Ventures leadership team and (b) our portfolio of ventures
  • Develop and maintain microsite for EDB\xe2\x80\x99s New Ventures efforts
  • Manage internal and external partner relationships (e.g. PR agency, event partners, content partners), ensuring delivery of key project outcomes to achieve our goals
Event Organisation and Partnerships
  • Support the events and partnerships strategy, including partner/vendor selection and assessment to measurement of effectiveness
  • Support the planning and execution of events, including shaping programming, developing talking points for speakers, inviting guests, and on-site support
  • Develop and refine content strategies to help meet campaign goals
[What we are looking for]

Minimum 3 years of experience in a related role for marketing and communications

Demonstrated track record of developing marketing and communications plans and translating them into implementation

Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring key milestones are met

Excellent track record in at least 3 of the following:

1) Experience in planning and executing integrated marketing and communications campaigns across paid, owned and earned channels; editorial experience is a plus, such as writing press releases * 2) Experience in events management from planning to execution
  • 3) Experience in content marketing, with strong ability to ideate fresh content ideas and shape content across distinct channels
  • 4) Experience in digital marketing campaigns which involve managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, paid social (LinkedIn) and/or display advertising campaigns - preferred but not a pre-requisite
  • 5) Experience in marketing strategy and monitoring - setting out objectives, timelines, KPIs and measurement metrics
A strong interest and passion for corporate innovation and/or start-up creation - you understand how the marketing and communications activities you develop will engage and benefit the target audiences. Experience with B2B start-ups a bonus
