Job Description


As a Managing Director at Meta Fuels Pte Ltd you will play a significant role in setting the strategy for our sourcing activities. You will define and implement relevant initiatives to further consolidate our position in the ASA & APAC region. Your primary focus will be on building on existing relationships and creating new client business. You will work closely with suppliers to create mutual value and you will identify and implement relevant sourcing initiatives to increase our competitiveness. You will work closely with your colleagues and select customers to drive demand in support of the implemented sourcing strategy. Finally, you will collaborate with our Risk Management team offering future pricing solutions.

Strategy Development

  • Work with the majority of energy segments in the APAC area to develop existing and prospective market clusters across technologies (e.g., carbon offset trading, virtual power purchase management, renewable and bio-fuels concept) and selected geographies in APAC that will meet growth and revenue goals, including concept, business model, go to market strategy and growth plans;
  • Identifies and prioritizes market segments and geographies that have the greatest growth and revenue potential;
  • Develops and maintains relationships with the broader energy industry that enable us to leverage growth potential through partnerships and other cooperative alliances.
  • Identify key growing markets which correspond to the company profile and create a valuable business concept for each of them, including regional branch offices establishment, hiring trading teams setting up sales targets for regional offices.

Product & Service Development

  • Refine and maintain existing products and services to ensure they are up-to-date and competitive in the market.
  • Develop new products and services to take advantage of new technologies or opportunities created by changes in regulatory, incentive or market structures
  • Diversify strategies across different revenue models to maximize revenue potential and leverage existing resources. Potential structures include hourly/project-based, success-based, brokerage, revenue sharing, and partnerships/finder’s fees.

Financial

  • Work with management to define annual revenue goals and interim quarterly targets.
  • Monitor and report on performance with respect to annual revenue goals
  • Work with team and puts systems in place to ensure timely invoices for energy projects

Commercial

  • Lead the consultative selling process for high-profile and high-value prospects and clients
  • Understand the full scope of sustainability and Meta Fuels products and services to effectively leverage the Meta Fuels client base and cross-segment opportunities
  • Plan and execute training across all segments: Marine, land, renewable and biofuels;
  • Key account management projects
  • Manage and supervise large or complex mandates through the project cycle
  • Track, analyse and report on project performance
  • Effective paper hedging of the daily trading operations, overall supervising and risk assessment of the trading team hedge activity.

Management

  • Effectively develop and manage a team of sales professionals;
  • Work across the global sustainability organization to help build understanding across geographies and product and service categories
  • Leverage outside resources (software, subscriptions) to improve team efficiency and scale capabilities.

Additional Responsibilities

The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively, build relationships and work closely with internal and external stakeholders including clients, third-party vendors and peers on the market. Must be comfortable and proficient in presenting and explaining energy products and services to senior management.
