About AWAK: AWAK Technologies Pte Ltd. is a pioneering, patient-centric medical technology company with a mission to enhance the lives of dialysis patients and their caregivers by providing solutions to deliver better outcomes and improve their quality of life. The company is dedicated to the research, development and marketing of novel, sorbent-based kidney dialysis machine for the treatment of patients with end-stage renal disease

Summary: The R&D Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with AWAK’s R&D and Manufacturing Operation team to bring innovate technologies in product design and manufacturing insights into AWAK’s product. Familiarity with medical device box assembly lines, process development, line validation, line setup and clean room is desired. He must be willing to work in the Clean room environment. The job requires maintaining the clean room, line equipment’s and machineries. As the work relates to medical device industry, he is expected to spend significant amount of time in documenting all his work, as per required quality regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform electromechanical engineering activities to mitigate technology risks so that those technologies can be integrated into future products

• Experience in a similar role implementing improvements to processes and procedures within a Manufacturing environment.

• Initiating and coordinating improvement activities and projects

• Develop manufacturing processes to support assembly of AWAK’s product, internally and externally.

• Experience in a similar role implementing improvements to processes and procedures within a Manufacturing environment.

• Perform housekeeping, comply to manufacturing discipline and cleanroom protocols.

• Perform and ensure that assembly builds and tests are completed as scheduled and according to the required specifications, drawings and work instructions

• Create documentation as needed for the manufacturing stations.

• Liaising with vendors as required

• Work with the team in problem solving and troubleshooting.

• Regional travel may be required

• Other duties may be assigned as needed
  

• Bachelor degree or above in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical or related Engineering

• Good Experience in product development and manufacturing of medical devices /biomedical engineering

• Around 5-10 years’ industry experience
  

• Multi-tasking and hands-on working style

• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with team, customers, suppliers, and various technical disciplines

• Proactive attitude, independent, self-motivated with a strong passion for work.

• Good team player with initiative to help out teammates and always ready to take on more tasks

• Strong passion for product commercialization.

• Analytical thinking and problem solving

• Responsible and able to work under pressure
