Manufacturing Engineer for Factorem.co, Singapore (Full-Time)

Life at Factorem: Factorem is Southeast Asia’s first on-demand manufacturing platform for hardware companies. We enable teams to get custom parts manufactured from the best, trusted suppliers through an AI-driven ordering process. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be joining a team of like-minded, fun & creative individuals transforming a traditional space. We are looking for an independent go-getter with a passion to understand user needs and problem-solve in both technical and non-technical aspects. Given the lean team, you can expect to interact directly with experts from other domains (Product, R&D, Business Development, etc). You will be greatly involved in transforming a typical manufacturing experience of hardware innovators, enabling quicker turnaround and quality service.

Factorem is backed by Enterprise Singapore, NUS Enterprise and accelerator Iterative.vc.

Responsibilities: 1. Design for Manufacturability (DFM) Checks:

• Part verification, drawing generation and providing technical support to Factorem’s customers.
• Understand intricacies of 3D/2D design files and how they translate to fabrication for various technologies ranging from CNC Machining, Sheet Metal Fabrication and 3D Printing.
• Continually work to improve and perfect the internal operations and processes.

2. DFM Content Articles & Workshops

• Assist the Factorem manufacturing team with writing articles/blog-posts and other marketing related paraphernalia.
• Assist and/or help conduct workshops to raise awareness about Factorem and reach out to more customers.

3. Engineering Operations

• Sales: Assist the sales team with any manufacturing related technical support.
• R&D: Work closely with and provide technical support to internal R&D teams where necessary.
• QA/QC Activities: Maintain and upgrade Factorem’s quality assurance and quality check activities.
• Partner Acquisition: Work closely with partnerships to develop a partner qualification system.
• Partner Visits: Visit manufacturing partners to provide manufacturing related technical support and insights as required periodically.

If you’re someone who is

• Enthusiastic and desires to learn about manufacturing and start-up culture
• Independent, responsible and takes ownership of work
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
• Experience with working with CAD software and has manufacturing knowledge
• Previous experience of working in the manufacturing industry and/or startup environment
