The role:
This role based at the New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing site in Jurong, will manage the manufacturing and supply of GSK\xe2\x80\x99s key Respiratory and General Medicines Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) to patients globally.
The role will plan, schedule, organize, manage, and control the manufacturing activities of a Production Building, to meet the supply demands and deliver the growth potential of GSK innovation products. Accountability includes leading a team to embed the Continuous Improvement culture to drive productivity targets, efficiency, reliability and meeting the ambitious cost of goods target, within the framework of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), safety, quality compliance, sustainability and in cognizance of the dynamic business environment.
The Manufacturing Manager will manage a diverse high performing team of Engineers, Chemists, Production Superintendents, Technicians, and other production management employees. This includes the leadership expectation to motivate and develop the team to realize their full potential and strengthen their technical capabilities and competencies.
At this key NPI site, the Manufacturing Manager will drive performance improvement, approve Change Control, define and prioritize capital projects in adherence to all relevant Site and regulatory requirements to deliver the business objectives to be future ready.
Additional responsibilities include the delivery of the balanced score cards and Key Performance Indicators in supply, safety, quality, sustainability and productivity. The Manufacturing Manager will manage the operating budget and expenditure to meet operational targets, drive cost improvement through the process performance management, lead the Tier accountability meetings and utilize the digital performance dashboard.
Professional Qualifications and Experiences:
A strong Degree in Chemical Engineering/ Chemistry.
At least 8 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing operations or related fields, particularly in the API manufacturing environment.
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes in the plant, including strong technical background for the key process unit operations, major equipment operations, deep understanding of Distributed Control System (DCS), Manufacturing Execution System (MES) of fully automated and paperless manufacturing facilities, and Manufacturing Enterprise Resource Planning (MERP) production execution processes.
Strong knowledge in capital projects, process validation and experience in plant equipment commissioning.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to lead multi-functional teams for complex plant/process problem solving and provide guidance and mentorship to the Technicians and Production Engineers in deviation management, troubleshooting and derive sound and robust corrective and preventive measures.
Excellent leadership in leading and cultivating the culture of Continuous Improvement and Management of Change, with the desire to improve and challenge the status-quo.
Strong knowledge of GMP and Data Integrity compliance, regulatory expectations, inspection readiness and extensive experience in the preparation and fronting of regulatory audits, safety, hygiene, and environment regulations as well as strong knowledge in process design and engineering standards
