Responsibilities:
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with marine engines, auxiliary engines, steering systems, and other components.
Perform repairs on inboard and outboard engines, including fuel, cooling, and exhaust systems.
Conduct routine maintenance to ensure all shipboard systems are operating effectively.
Ensure the ship and engine room are kept clean when onboard.
Provide detailed reports on work completed and explain repairs and services to customers.Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure adherence to environmental regulations related to marine service and repairs.Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of services performed, including time, parts used, and labor.
Use service management software to log and track repairs and maintenance tasks.Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with other technicians and service team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as needed.
Perform any other assigned duties.Job Requirements:
Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in marine mechanics or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in marine service and repair.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and marine service equipment.
Knowledge of marine engines, auxiliary engines, and cargo pumps.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Capability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
