Job Description


:

- Lead the prioritization of safety across all vessels as the safety leader.
- Provide daily operational and technical support to vessels, which includes conducting Vessel Condition Assessments and meeting the vessels daily operational needs, serving as the primary contact with Vessel Owner/End client.
- Safely, economically, and efficiently operate and maintain marine equipment on ships according to customer contracts/Charter Party agreements, within approved budgets, satisfying both owners and their clients, guided by the company's SMS system.
- Ensure timely completion of Statutory and Classification surveys for all vessel equipment and machinery in compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate with flag state to secure necessary exemptions for the vessel.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance through the companys PMS system to prevent technical or operational issues leading to downtime.
- Contribute to improving the PMS maintenance system by providing proactive feedback to the Fleet Manager and Marine Manager.
- Conduct quarterly vessel inspections offshore or at berth (with owners approval), providing comprehensive reports to the Marine Manager and Fleet Manager, including findings, areas of concern, and recommendations.
- Monitor and address the vessels technical performance and defined KPIs, taking immediate action to rectify non-conformities or deviations, and ensuring implementation of corrective actions for technical incidents or non-conformities.
- Provide regular updates on vessel operational and technical status to the Marine Manager, Fleet Manager, owner, and clients.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise ship repairs and dry-docking activities in collaboration with other stakeholders.
- Manage vessel operations within budgetary constraints, covering docking, repairs, opex, capex, and AFE.
- Coordinate repairs, spare part provision, and service engineer arrangements in case of major breakdowns, ensuring safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness, and liaising with insurance providers as necessary.
- Participate in crew appraisals and selection processes.
- Adhere to company requirements and report any non-conformities.
- Collaborate with other fleet disciplines to optimize vessel and fleet performance.
- Proactively seek effective solutions for both the company and clients.
- Monitor vessel utilization and document off-hire for verification and commercial purposes.
- Review and monitor JSA, Risk Assessments (including Cyber Security Risks), and the PTW system.
- Participate in vessel-related matters, audits, incidents, and ad-hoc inspections to maintain high safety standards.
- Handle crew-related tasks such as recruitment, onboard training, safety awareness, and implementing company initiatives.
- Ensure the vessel maintains 100% utilization within safety guidelines.
- Assist HSSEQ in incident/accident investigations.
- Attend third-party inspections such as suitability, OVID, MWS, and OSVIS.
- Maintain records of maintenance days and request additional maintenance as necessary.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years of ship management experience as a Marine Superintendent with sailing experience as Chief Engineer/Second Engineer, preferably in the offshore industry.
- Proficient in Regulatory requirements and Industry standards for shipping and maritime operations.
- Experience in vessel assurance, PMS, and safety security management systems.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with resilience under pressure and decisive decision-making abilities.
- Experience in managing DP2 vessels is advantageous.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel at short notice.
- Ability to adapt to company policies and requirements.
