Lead the implementation of safety practices and initiatives.
Manage and maintain the company\'s HSSEQ management system for vessels, identifying gaps in processes and systems, and driving improvements.
Prepare and update vessel-specific manuals when required.
Maintain HSSEQ department documentation and records, review shipboard month-end reports, risk assessments, and permits to work.
Implement and oversee HSSEQ programs and activities onboard vessels.
Conduct crew inductions, briefings, shipboard training, safety coaching, and monitor computer-based training to enhance safety awareness.
Follow up on incident, accident, and near-miss reports, conduct investigations, perform root cause analysis, implement preventive measures, and ensure proper documentation and closure.
Prepare and distribute circulars as needed.
Perform internal audits and inspections onboard vessels, conduct inter-departmental and company audits, and audit subcontractors in line with the audit plan to uphold safety standards.
Prepare vessels and participate in external audits and inspections (ISM, ISPS, MLC, OVID, CMID, OSVIS, HSE) conducted by clients or external parties.
Address and resolve HSSEQ deficiencies or findings from flag or port state control inspections, vessel audits, or external client inspections.
Follow up on client HSSEQ requirements, including submitting questionnaires, attending meetings and workshops, preparing project management systems, bridging documents, HSE plans, and month-end statistical reports.
Assist with HSSEQ service requisitions and approve invoices.
Support the marine superintendent in timely completion of HSSEQ tasks.
Serve as the Alternate Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Alternate Company Security Officer (CSO) and participate as a member of the shore-based emergency response team.
Travel to vessels in ports, shipyards, and offshore locations for audits, inspections, and training.
Perform other duties as assigned by the HSSEQ Manager.
Requirements:
Certified ISM / ISPS / ISO Internal Auditor.
Certified DPA / CSO.
Certification in Accident/Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis.
Previously attended BOSIET training.
Minimum 5 years of experience in marine-related QHSSE roles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of both offshore and onshore operations.
