is a leading Singaporean ship management and marine fuel logistics company, owning and operating our own fleet of bunker barges with our inhouse team.





We are looking for a driven and committed

Marine Superintendent

to join our dynamic team to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the company's fleet of vessels. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including overseeing safety management systems, conducting investigations, optimizing operational costs, managing training programs, providing expert marine advice, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations.





A valid

Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 1

would be

mandatory

in order to work closely with the technical, crewing, and training departments to ensure the organizations function in upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental protection.





What you will be doing:





Safety Management System (SEMS) and Training:


Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's SEMS to ensure compliance with international and industry safety standards. Collaborate to design and deliver comprehensive training programs for shipboard personnel on safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental protection.



Market Research and Investigations:


Conduct research on market trends, regulatory developments, and technological advancements in the maritime industry to identify potential risks and opportunities for the company. Investigate incidents, accidents, or near-misses involving company vessels to determine root causes, recommend corrective actions, and prevent future occurrences.



Cost Control and Efficiency:


Analyse marine operations costs, identify areas for potential savings and implement measures to optimize efficiency without compromising safety or vessel performance. Monitor vessel operations to ensure adherence to company standards and identify any deviations that may impact costs or efficiency. Oversee procurement activities and manage the overall budget including services, ship spares, deck & technical supplies while ensuring the operational reliability of the vessels are kept to a high standard.



Reporting and Continuous Improvement:


Report deficiencies, incidents, and near-misses to relevant stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory authorities as required. Identify areas for improvement in vessel operations, safety procedures, and training programs, and recommend changes to management for approval.



Safety and Accident Analysis:


Liaise with relevant departments to collect and analyse safety-related data, including injuries, accidents, and near-misses. Ensure that appropriate corrective actions are implemented to address identified risks and prevent future incidents. Incident / Accident Investigation and Reporting



Training Policies and Review:


Monitor and review training policies both ashore and onboard vessels to ensure their effectiveness and relevance. Collaborate with the training department to update training materials and methodologies as needed.



Marine Advice and Vessel Performance:


Provide expert marine advice to allocated vessels on navigational, communication, cargo handling, and ship handling issues. Monitor the performance of Masters on allocated vessels, providing feedback and recommendations as necessary.



Fleet Instructions and Vessel Vetting:


Continuously review and update Company fleet instructions to ensure safe and efficient operation of managed vessels. Ensure that all vessels undergo comprehensive vetting procedures to meet the requirements of major oil companies and other relevant stakeholders. Monitor, coordinate and attend to vessels for oil major inspections, (SIRE), statutory surveys, related matters and follow-up Monitor, coordinate and attend to vessels for Internal Audit and Internal Safety Inspection



What we are looking for:



Valid

Class 1 Certificate of Competency (CoC) or equivalent

issued by a recognized maritime authority.

Bachelor's degree

in Nautical Science or a related field.

DPA

,

CSO

and

Internal Auditor

course certifed would be highly advantageous. Minimum of

5 years

of seagoing experience as an officer onboard bunker tanker, as well as experience in shore-based in ship management. Thorough knowledge of international maritime regulations, including

SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISPS, MLC

and

ISM

Code. Excellent communication, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
