Marketing duties

  • Create and execute campaigns and events for new and backlist titles
  • Maintain excellent author relationships by attending to author enquiries and supporting authors at book-related events at literary events or at our Epigram Coffee Bookshop
  • Arrange author appearances, book launches and promotional events
  • Commission, execute and/or oversee the production of marketing collaterals including video book trailers, social media graphics, book information sheet,
  • Budget and account for marketing expenses
  • Manage distribution of review copies, catalogues and marketing collaterals
  • Assist in sales conferences, book fairs, bazaars, pop-up sales, festivals, and other roving events
  • Work with sales colleagues to organise and initiate promotions on the online bookshop
  • Represent the publisher at meetings and oversee communications with booksellers, stockists, agents, festival managers, and other friends of the book industry

Publicity duties
  • Write and distribute engaging press releases
  • Secure print and online coverage and reviews
  • Contribute to social media outreach
  • Maintain and strengthen media contacts and mailing list
  • Schedule and produce newsletter and emailers

Our ideal person
  • Has a finger on the pulse in the literary world
  • Possesses familiarity with Microsoft Suite and Adobe software such as Photoshop, InDesign and After Effects
  • Able to start sooner than later
  • Possesses a dash of wit and strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Has at least a diploma or degree in marketing, advertising, communications or equivalent
  • Is a consummate salesperson, persuaive and charming
  • Ready to jump in and tackle challenges with gumption
  • Gets a thrill from executing the perfect campaign or event
  • Can bend time and space to get things done
  • Thinks well beyong what\xe2\x80\x99s asked of you
  • Is tech and social media savvy and are best friends with Mailchimp, Shopify, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Twitter and co. You don\xe2\x80\x99t have to be familiar with everything, but you will need to be able to upload new skills on the fly
  • Passionate about getting more people to read and buy books (preferably ours)
  • Able to commit to evening and weekend book events
  • Doesn\xe2\x80\x99t rest on your laurels
  • Lives and breathes the minutiae of the work, but also has a life outside of it
