Job Description

This is a Material Supply Management role for Japan market. As part of P&G’s Purchases discipline, this role will equip you with supply chain expertise and the opportunity to engage and lead discussions with key external business partners in the region. The role is critical to deliver supply assurance and optimization of supply chains, especially in today’s volatile world. While the role is intended mainly for Japan market and Japan suppliers, P&G can also offer other roles beyond Japan market should there be fit with the skills and capabilities of the individual. Your team This role reports to Purchasing Director or Senior Manager. The team will consist of both sourcing and supply experts managing business for Japan market. How success looks like Functional performance – Deliver impact to both business and organization through management of materials supply. Success metrics include material supply assurance, coordination of supply activities with external business partners, delivering value creation, and enabling/coaching the broader organization. Revenue and profits – This role is critical for the delivery of Sales and Volume targets and Cash targets. Expectation is to be able to lead major business critical projects which successfully enable shorter and more robust supply chains, which translate to delivery of such targets for the company. Responsibilities of the role

• Responsible to manage supply of materials related to our Japan Site(s)/Supply Chains by building expertise in external industries, supply management skills, and internal categories/markets.
• Responsible for the coordination and execution of supply activities, managing internal and external relationships, and ensuring the business needs are met efficiently
• Delivering short, mid, and long term supply assurance for responsible materials by securing sufficient capacity and establish robust supply chains
• Delivering value creation (cost and cash savings) including inventory optimization and execution of savings projects
• Accountability for delivery of fundamentals in stewardship and process compliance including regular scorecard reviews and robust continuity plans
• Develop basic proficiency in all supply management skills
• Leading projects on defined intervention areas (savings, technical, cost structure, relationship, stewardship).

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree with background/skills in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business.
• Proficiency in Japanese language is a must.
• 0-4 years of supply chain experience in large companies; fresh graduates with a university degree in the relevant field can be considered.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese, and be able to regularly engage in discussions within P&G and our suppliers.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to influence.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret insights from data.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills across geographies.
• High operational excellence and strong bias for action.
• Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
• Digital & Data savviness is an advantage.
