Due to our continued growth into the Data Centre sector, we are looking to recruit a Mechanical Associate Director, ideally with Data Centre experience, to integrate into our established global teams, working with us on major international projects. As a fast paced, growing business this role will be responsible for managing projects to deliver an excellent service to clients and assist in the ongoing development and growth of the business, whilst providing sound technical, design and contract management support. Reporting into the Singapore based Director we're looking for an experienced leader to take overall accountability for the performance of the Data Centre function as part of the wider management team. Key responsibilities - - Responsible for running of a wide variety, type and size of projects with a global mindset. - Day to day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with and provides advice to clients. - Ensures risk and performance monitoring analysis takes place through effective systems of internal control and delegation. - Understand the business, proactively identify opportunities for further expansion or improvement of services delivered to the customer for the development of that opportunity. - With in-depth technical, quality expertise and capability to perform role as to manage clientele and business development. - Ensure design, delivery, innovation, placement and servicing of new/expanded business opportunities, renewals and mid-term amendments and where appropriate client servicing - Specifies day to day liaison activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements and discussion on project progress, design meeting, ongoing requirements for deliverables against detail and programme - Manage resources in terms of mobilising resources during different periods of time from team to team to maximise productivity on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions - Lead, mentor and develop the team to achieve project and business goals. - Contribute to the growth of the business via business development & support growth initiatives - Identify and address performance issues before the client raises them. - Quickly understand clients' process and develop supporting tools. - Actively participate in new growth initiatives internal and external and to contribute to the development of internal systems and procedures. - Manage project P&L. Identify design scope change and manage design fee change orders. - Review and forecast project financial performance. Identify and mitigate forecast fee challenges. - Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the project delivery process from a project management, financial management, QA/QC and technical review perspective. - Ownership of direct line reporting employee's performance appraisal. Advocate learning needs, proactive in providing coaching, identifying talent and succession planning include, career mapping and organization capability. Role Requirements - - Degree in appropriate engineering discipline or have sufficient equivalent experience. - Membership of appropriate international and/or local Professional Institutions preferred. - Professional Engineer registration or in progress to desirable. - Proven experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team with the successful delivery of the design for critical projects. - Experience in project management and MEP engineering track record with some experience of data centres or other critical engineering facilities. - Minimum of 10 years broad range of building types and design experience with 3 years of data centre design experience. - Peripheral experience in architecture, structures, civils, security and permitting.
