We are looking for you,

Middle Distillates Trader

to join our Middle Distillates Trading team in Singapore.

Neste\'s Middle Distillates Trading team is an international team with traders in Geneva, Houston and Singapore. The team has a strong footprint in Europe and successfully developed its activities in Asia & Americas.

The team is responsible for middle distillates products exports from our Porvoo refinery outside Scandinavia as well as supply from the markets to our system. The team has the trading mandate to create additional proprietary trading and leverage on synergies with system flows

In addition, we collaborate closely with various teams in renewable business units by supplying jet and diesel to our blending activities (California, Europe, Singapore) as well as sharing our market expertise. You will focus on the middle distillates flows East of Suez. In this job you will work closely with Oil Product and Renewable commercial teams as well as supply chain management, shipping, operations, risk and other departments.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future

Be responsible for purchase of middle distillates in the East of Suez as part of our world wide sourcing strategy (local supply & international arbitrage opportunities)

Initiate proprietary trading activities for physical and paper positions

Work together with Supply Chain management to optimise production from a market perspective (\'outside in\') as well as build and maintain market understanding to best place the refineries products (\'inside out\')

Build and maintain market knowledge through interaction with other market participants as well as through fundamental analysis

Identify and develop business based on internal synergies together with Renewable Products and Light Ends teams

Build new business in the East leveraging on Neste assets, develop other trading strategies, share them with the worldwide team and achieve consensus around them

Review & take responsibility of hedging positions, DVAR & MtM

Develop and support the development of new tools and ways of working for the team

Keys to success in this role / The best combination to succeed in this role

Ideally 8-10 years experience in commodity trading

Minimum 5 years experience in middle distillates trading

Strong knowledge of middle distillates specifications and blending properties

Ability to create synergies between system business and proprietary trading business

Strong understanding of market fundamentals

Strong experience with derivatives hedging

Proven track record in building relationships & building bridges (internally and externally)

Strong negotiator & ambitious personality

High ambition level and proven ability to work independently and self-motivated

Exceptionally strong team player
