Job Purpose


  • Develop and manage the Commercial aspects of the Quality process and supporting systems, in line with the AkzoNobel Quality Management System, so that customers receive quality products and that the level of claims and complaints for MPY BU SEAA Business is reduced to a minimum
  • Build strong working links with support functions such as COS, RDI, PSRA, ISC QC, Sales, Commercial Tender etc. to ensure that customer claims and complaints are thoroughly investigated and reported
  • Member of the Global Commercial Quality Management team, ensuring that customer issues are reviewed and investigated, standard procedures are followed, best practices adopted, and Business targets achieved
  • Ensure that new Quality requirements from MPY BU SEAA customers are understood and introduced into MPY BU operations as required



Key Accountabilities


  • Primary contact as Case Handler for customer claims and complaints
  • Utilise full suite of Quality tools to investigate high level complaints and claims and to co-ordinate responses in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensure that strong links are built with all support functions which are required to correctly investigate and address customer issues, including Regional Quality and ISC QC
  • Participate as active member of Global Commercial Quality team
  • Highlight specific trends which are related to product performance, product quality, environmental issues, repeat customers etc.
  • Manage Regional (site based) customer facing accreditations and certifications including support for site Quality Audits when requested
  • Support MPY Commercial (Tender Team) in the review of quality, complaints and claims sections in Commercial contracts
  • Implementation of new Quality requirements as required by customers
  • Assist with projects concerning the management of returned stock (including setting damage criteria, SLOB, rework, tinted stock, scrapping etc.) and related Quality improvement projects
  • Support for implementation and roll out of new Case Management tool for Claims and Complaints management in the South East Asia / Australasia Region


Experience


  • Degree level (or equivalent) in science, technology, or commercial disciplines
  • Minimum five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Marine, Protective and Yacht Coatings BU
  • Detailed knowledge of MPY BU product range required, including experience of product development, manufacture, field application, inspection etc.
  • Qualifications or experience in Quality Systems and Continuous Improvement tools (e.g., FMEA, PPAP, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing etc.); Lead Auditor certification beneficial
  • Knowledge or use of Quality systems such as ISO, APQP, IATF etc. would be an advantage
  • Previous experience of building, leading and contributing to successful, professional cross-functional teams (including a Quality element if possible)
  • Able to demonstrate high level of analytical capability, process orientation, attention to quality and detail
  • Excellent report writing skills (both at a summary and detailed level)
  • Good communication skills including experience of presentations to a wide range of audiences (including customers)
  • Proficient in use of Business software including Excel, Sharepoint, PowerPoint etc., and experience of ERP systems
  • Able to travel as required
