This includes maintaining, reviewing and optimizing ICT networks to provide a seamless experience for the Dulwich community. This role works closely with our third-party vendor to provide effective first, second and third level technical support. The Network Administrator will lead on network infrastructure projects including the new upcoming Phase #3 building. Duties and Responsibilities: Network Development In conjunction with the ICT Manager and Director of ICT, develop and maintain plans for medium to long term network structures, both hardware and software. Plan and implement deployment of short-term network structures, for both hardware and software. Network Maintenance Ensure the highest level of network security, whilst emphasising confidentiality at all times Applying best practice in instigating protection against the risk of cyber security threats, viruses/spam and spyware Ensure the highest level of network operation and undertake appropriate network support documentation Ensuring the College's network-based systems are operating effectively including email, internet access, file-print services and others as required Monitoring available resources and provide input for capacity planning Monitoring network usage and traffic in line with College policy, including reporting any appropriate information Undertaking continuous review and improvement to ensure best practice approach to network administration Perform compatibility testing and upgrade of network software applications. Network Administration Document hardware issues and utilise the Technical Support System to maintain records of repairs Management of Cisco Smartnet Contracts and dealing with TAC support Maintain current documentation for College related network hardware and configurations Contribute to departmental policies and procedures Organise the repair of equipment from external vendors Ordering of networking equipment Systems and Network Security Responsible for the maintenance, upgrade and troubleshooting of the existing College wired and wireless network infrastructure. Research and planning into new networking ideas and technologies. Experience working with Cisco command line IOS's. Experience using Cisco Prime and ISE Administration and configuration of Cisco Firepower/Firesight and FMC Administration and configuration of Cisco Wireless Networks with WLAN Controllers Management of the College's Cisco telephony system Administration and configuration of Cisco Access and Core Switches Setting up and configuration of DHCP, DNS and File Services Good understanding of Routing, Switching and IP Protocols (IPv4 and IPv6) Network troubleshooting includes, VLAN's, WLAN's, LAN's, WAN's. Willingness to provide out of hours work when required or requested by the ICT Manager Administration of the College firewall's, adding new rules as needed and maintaining the DMZ's and public address space. Constant monitoring of operational status of the network and acting as an escalation point for technical issues. Administration of DHCP and DNS (Local and Public) Maintaining security posture and monitoring of relevant systems for signs of malware infection. Perform tasks assigned by line manager as and when required.
