What this Job Entails:The Network Provisioning Engineer III is the focal point for all internal and external orders required to maintain the network. This position requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to details.Scope:Resolves a wide range of issues in creative waysSeasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of their specialtyWorks on problems of a diverse scopeReceives little instruction on day to day work, general instruction on new assignmentsYour Roles and Responsibilities:Handle implementation of various software servicesReview ticket requirements, reserving router interface, assigning patch panel demarcation, designing path, track FOC and DLR, requesting patching between equipment, and ordering cross-connectsTrack milestones and proactively drive any activities that may jeopardize orders from completing on timeProvide thorough and timely status throughout the entire implementation life cycle in the tracking system; including communicating vendor provisioning/install lead timesDocument service requests, escalate as needed, and provide timely and accurate updatesDesign, provision, and test delivered services to ensure quality hand-off to internal customersExpedite and escalate issues when necessary to ensure timely delivery of servicesPrioritize projects, manage and direct activities to deliver connectivity within project scheduleCommunicate and collaborate with internal customers, stakeholders and network carriersPerform metrics development and operational reporting/reviewsPerform planned systems maintenance activity while minimizing impact to servicesRead and comprehend vendor specific requirementsOther duties as required. This list is not meant to be a comprehensive inventory of all responsibilities assigned to this positionRequired Qualifications/Skills:Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 5 to 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceNetworks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertiseDemonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutionsExperience with basic telecommunications practices, terminologies, and interfacesKnowledge of cable throughput and transit distancesUnderstanding of telecommunications industry in a switched network provisioning environmentKnowledge of Access Server Request (ASR) to local carriersUnderstanding of provisioning network bandwidth for IP transit, fiber, voice and wavelength servicesPreferred Qualifications:Network CertificationVarious coding experiencePhysical Demand & Work Environment:Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standingMust have the ability to move from place to place within an office environmentMust be able to use a computerMust have the ability to communicate effectivelySome positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
