The NOC engineer is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the organization\'s network infrastructure to ensure its optimal performance and availability.
This role involves actively monitoring network systems, identifying and resolving network issues, coordinating incident response, and implementing network configuration changes.
Monitor network systems and infrastructure using network monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Respond to network alerts and notifications, investigate network incidents, and troubleshoot issues to identify root causes.
Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve network incidents and minimize network downtime.
Implement network configuration changes, including device setup, software installations, firmware upgrades, and patch deployments.
Participate in incident management processes, prioritize incidents based on severity, and ensure timely incident resolution within defined SLAs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, incident resolutions, and standard operating procedures.
Monitor and ensure compliance with network security policies and practices, identify potential security threats, and collaborate with security teams to implement necessary measures.
Conduct regular network health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning to proactively identify and address network issues.
Provide status updates and reports on network performance, uptime, incident statistics, and other relevant metrics to stakeholders.
Stay updated with emerging network technologies, industry trends, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
Contribute to process improvements within the NOC environment to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Follow change management procedures and participate in change implementation activities to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth network operations.
Provide technical support and guidance to other IT teams, as needed, to resolve network-related issues.
Qualifications and Skills:
Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and network security principles.
Experience with network monitoring tools and technologies.
Proficiency in network troubleshooting methodologies and tools.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and other network protocols.
Familiarity with network devices and technologies such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless networks
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or similar are a plus.
