We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Open-Source Community Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and nurturing our open-source community, which includes developers, users, and other stakeholders. You will work closely with the development team to ensure that our open-source projects are well-maintained and actively supported, and you will also be responsible for building relationships with key community members and promoting our projects to a wider audience.
Responsibilities:
- Set, plan, and implement social media and communication campaigns and strategies to engage the open-source community and promote our projects
- Provide engaging text, image, and video content for all social media and professional accounts related to our open-source projects
- Respond to community members in a timely manner, addressing questions, concerns, and feedback
- Monitor, track, and report on feedback and online reviews of our open-source projects
- Organize and manage events (such as meetups, hackathons, and conferences) to boost brand awareness and foster community engagement
- Coordinate with the development and marketing teams to ensure that our open-source projects are well-maintained and actively supported
- Build relationships with key community members, including developers, users, and other stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with open-source trends and best practices, and identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a community manager or similar role, preferably in the open-source space
- Experience planning and leading community initiatives, such as events or campaigns
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with the community
- Hands-on experience with social media management and online marketing
- Attention to detail, critical thinker, and problem-solver
