Provide operational assistance to Operators/Marine Superintendents for fleet vessels.
Represent principals/managers as needed for interactions with Owners, regulatory authorities, and industry events.
Ensure accuracy and currency of information within marine databases, including OCIMF (VPQ), SIRE, Q88, SIS3, CDI, and others as required.
Assist in generating operations department statistics and relevant documentation for management reviews.
Ensure adherence to voyage instructions and provide guidance to vessel masters as necessary.
Oversee compliance with operational parameters according to governing charter parties (CP).
Track vessel movements within the fleet and communicate updates to relevant departments to aid in necessary arrangements.
Monitor actual fuel consumption versus budgeted figures to maintain cost efficiency.
Take a proactive approach in managing potential vessel claims by monitoring performance both at sea and in port.
Conduct and oversee calculations and communications for resolving disputes or claims, such as those related to cargo damage, shortages, laytime, or underperformance.
Manage voyage-related documentation and maintain vessel-specific operational data for fleet vessels.
Input vessel and voyage data into business applications.
Oversee and assist in compiling insurance claim documentation for fleet vessels.
Coordinate with masters and charterers on unplanned stoppages or repairs, following up on off/on-hire reports, and guiding vessel reports under supervision from GM/Technical Manager.
Provide support on operational issues including loading, discharging, tank cleaning, and grade changes.
Assist with post-fixture activities, including cargo documentation (BLs, LOIs), addressing cargo quantity issues, and managing additional insurance requirements (e.g., AWRP, KnR).
Manage bunker requirements, notify charterers as necessary, and handle onboard intake quantity and segregation with guidance from Technical Superintendents and masters.
Appoint agencies as required on behalf of owners.
Gather and manage customer feedback.
Requirements:
Degree or qualification in maritime studies, or a Master/Chief Officer Certificate of Competency.
Minimum of 2 years\' sailing experience as a Chief Officer on ocean-going tankers, preferably with chemical tanker experience.
Prior experience (2-3 years) in a similar role within a tanker company is advantageous.
In-depth understanding of tanker industry operations, including commercial and technical aspects.
Strong knowledge of maritime regulations applicable to tankers.
Solid understanding of regulatory and cultural aspects of major ports for loading and discharging.
Familiarity with standard charter party terms and contracts.
Team management experience.
Effective teamwork, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
