Lead and coordinate the plan review process for gas carriers like LNGCs and VLGCs, ensuring that review activities are effectively managed.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to stakeholders throughout all stages of the design process.
Play a key role in evaluating and approving designs, plans, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with newbuild specifications, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Participate in risk assessment activities related to the design of gas carriers in this class.
Identify and resolve potential design issues, offering recommendations for improvements and solutions.
Lead or participate in the selection of shipyards and makers, always prioritizing the best interests of the client.
Stay informed about the latest advancements in gas carrier technologies and best practices for design, construction, and operation.
Requirements:
Strong written and verbal communication skills in business and technical English, along with proficiency in computer skills (MS Office, SharePoint, AutoCAD, etc.).
Experience as a Chief Engineer aboard a gas carrier is preferred.
Experience as a plan approval engineer for gas carrier projects, either with a Class Society, Ship Owner/Manager, or Charterer, is preferred.
A bachelors degree in marine engineering with experience in newbuilding at site is required.
Relevant experience in newbuilding site supervision, negotiation of shipbuilding contracts, or repair and upgrade of gas carriers for owners/managers or shipyards is considered advantageous.
Proven experience in plan approval, approval coordination, or a similar role in the marine or shipbuilding industry.
