Job Responsibilities: CURRICULUM \xc3\x98 Evaluates indoor and outdoor learning environment designed to meet curriculum goals and learning outcomes. \xc3\x98 Manages the purchase of supplies, materials and equipment. \xc3\x98 Provides professional development and leadership for staff on resources that help educators incorporate a variety of strategies to support programme goals CONNECTING WITH FAMILIES \xc3\x98 Evaluates family programmes through constant feedback and evaluation. \xc3\x98 Communicates and models appropriate communication strategies with colleagues to use when dealing with different types of families. \xc3\x98 Promotes and advocates for resources, programmes and collaborations that engage families and communities for the benefit of children\xe2\x80\x99s development both in centre and at home. \xc3\x98 Provide leadership in creating safe, open and inclusive family and community environments and programmes that capitalise on children\xe2\x80\x99s developments, abilities and strength. \xc3\x98 Communicate effectively to management and stakeholders. \xc3\x98 Make available a variety of systems or strategies to facilitate effective communication among staff. CENTRE OPERATIONS \xc3\x98 Implement Child Care Act and Regulations, Licensing Instrument, Early Years Development Framework, Code of Ethics and any other initiatives that apply to improving programme and facilities. \xc3\x98 Establish and implement quality assurance processes for centre. \xc3\x98 Centre tour and marketing FINANCE \xc3\x98 Maintain and manage budget for materials and supplies in with policy and programme goals. \xc3\x98 Know the programme\xe2\x80\x99s funding sources and requirements such as fees, subsidy. \xc3\x98 Engage in financial analysis such as forecasting, budgeting, engaging in cost reduction analysis, and reviewing operational performance. HEALTH AND SAFETY \xc3\x98 Cooking area/kitchen is inaccessible to children at all times. \xc3\x98 Safety gates keys are easily accessible. \xc3\x98 A written plan for fire evacuation including a sketch map is displayed in a prominent place. \xc3\x98 Staffs are trained and familiar with the evacuation/ emergency procedures. \xc3\x98 Food is prepared are served in a hygienic manner. \xc3\x98 A wide variety of nutritionally balanced food that caters to the various age groups is provided. \xc3\x98 Centre has a separate and fully enclosed area for sick children to rest and children are closely monitored. \xc3\x98 Prompt action is taken during outbreak of infectious diseases. \xc3\x98 Fire extinguishers are positioned at an acceptable level approved by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). Fire extinguisher are serviced regularly and certified effective. The labels are legible. \xc3\x98 Meals served correspond to written menu. Deviations in menu are duly recorded. \xc3\x98 Fire drills are conducted at least once every 6 months. \xc3\x98 Fire drills records are maintained. \xc3\x98 Plan and strategize improvements regarding champs\xe2\x80\x99 health and safety issues HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT \xc3\x98 Inform and share with staff and colleagues, professional development activities, and includes career-ladder guidance when helping staff and colleagues establish their individual goals. \xc3\x98 Maintain confidential personnel files. \xc3\x98 Monitor the overall morale and job satisfaction of staff. \xc3\x98 Identifies and acknowledge the strengths and contributions of individual team members. \xc3\x98 Plan for staff recruitment, selection and retention. \xc3\x98 Identify and establish a monitoring system for personnel procedures to ensure consistency with regular requirements. \xc3\x98 Assess and document the performance of staff based on clearly defined job descriptions, expectations and ongoing direct observations. \xc3\x98 Conducts and contribute to formal performance reviews. \xc3\x98 Maintains confidentiality and privacy in supervision and evaluation of staff. \xc3\x98 Design and implement staff professional development plans. \xc3\x98 Provide opportunities for advancement of staff. \xc3\x98 Participate in reflective discussion and establish protocols to address conflict and resistance to change among staff. Job Requirements: \xc3\x98 Diploma in Early Childhood Education-Teaching & Leadership is a must \xc3\x98 Degree in Early Childhood Education will be advantageous \xc3\x98 Minimum of 3 years of teaching and management experience in a childcare/preschool \xc3\x98 Creative and inspiring with loving energy \xc3\x98 Excellent communication and classroom management skills
