What the role is:We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated medical entomologist to further expand and strengthen the vector-borne disease research programme at the Environmental Health Institute (EHI). The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of scientists that focuses on vector biology, surveillance, and management. You will design and lead multi-disciplinary research and risk assessments related to insecticide resistance management and novel vector control technology. Your work will oversee laboratory functions that maintain multiple strains of mosquitoes for insecticide assessment, and develop control strategies to guide and inform operations, resource planning, and policy.What you will be working on:You are required to apply advanced concepts, methods, procedures, and technologies related to vector surveillance and control, and will be expected to publish findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The successful candidate will be working closely with the industry, international and local scientific experts.
