Job Description


Direct Search Global is working with one of the largest OSV owner (by fleet size) to fill a vacancy for Procurement Manager in their Singapore office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as the procurement subject matter expert in consulting the company on procurement strategies, processes, policies, and best practices for various sub-categories.
  • Spearhead tender processes including contract negotiations, supported by and in collaboration with operations and other key internal stakeholders.
  • Source, negotiate, contract, and manage a wide variety of category requirements.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the region to manage cost and the supply base for a range of sub-categories.
  • Manage procurement budget and promote a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Responsible for preparing competitive bids and leading team to undertake costing activities and cost analysis for projects.
  • In comparison with previous estimates, carry out benchmark estimates through data comparison and validation.
  • Prepare rationale statements (estimate basis) to support the estimate, identifying areas of weakness and or areas of risk.
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors, and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationship with vendors.
  • Lead and guide team members to firmly implement, comply and execute subcontracting processes including work scope evaluation, strategic sourcing initiatives, RFQ, bid evaluations, supplier selection process, negotiations, contract and works order delivery fulfilment and settlement.
  • Responsible to train and coach team members.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor\'s Degree in Procurement/ Supply Chain/ Marine/ Engineering or equivalent certifications.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant working experience in a similar capacity preferably in Shipyard Operations is an advantage.
  • Excellent communications and negotiation skills with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Resourceful, self-driven, proactive, and independent person.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Good interpersonal and analytics skills.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office Applications (Words, Excel, Access) and ERP.
