What Strategic Sourcing - Global Products contributes to Cardinal Health

Global Sourcing is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers, suppliers and patients. Develops and executes strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage is created through supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization and risk mitigation.

Strategic Sourcing Global Products is responsible for managing a portfolio of Cardinal Brand products, raw materials, spend and suppliers. Development and execution of global sourcing strategies to achieve best total value, sustainable productivity and high levels of quality and service aligned with business objectives.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of the Procurement Sourcing Director, Asia Pacific is to be responsible for developing category sourcing and procurement (S&P) strategy for China and APAC regional suppliers, leading transformational change management, and directing a team of Sourcing Managers and Senior Specialists who specialize in healthcare related spend categories related to medical grade and general purpose nitrile/vinyl gloves.

Responsibilities

Creates collaborative business plans with strategic suppliers, develops negotiation strategies, and directs the execution of strategic programs.

Provides direction and oversees that Sourcing Managers develop and maintain positive supplier relationships.

Approves Sourcing Manager supplier contract negotiations, guaranteeing the attainment of the most advantageous pricing, terms, discounts, allowances, quality, delivery, service and dating (where applicable).

Ensures all goods and services meet established standards and legal requirements. Addresses functional team and commercial team concerns/issues, requests, and questions and resolves within legal/tax and corporate guidelines.

Establishes and maintains the sourcing strategy for the enterprise including the shaping of supply chain strategies and metrics for assigned categories.

Directs and approves the planning process with Sourcing Managers in developing and recommending sourcing solutions, distribution channels, and execution of best practices. Applies analytics to enable optimized cost savings and supply base. Collaborates closely with supply teams to establish inventory/replenishment metrics and drive supplier performance.

Plans, develops, directs, and implements complex business strategies through the establishment of short/long-range objectives, change management, performance goals, and metrics for each spend category.

Collaborates with internal and external resources and to champion enterprise wide cross-functional sourcing initiatives.

Understands category specific details and Med Segment operational principles and produces analytics that contributes to the formation of budgets and effective P&L management by the business units supported. As appropriate, ensures close collaborations with other Global Procurement centers of excellence and related functions in the Americas, EMEA and APAC.

Directs and executes budgetary cost reduction programs and initiatives that facilitate business owners achieving their business unit goals and financial targets. Assures the appropriate use of capital and financial resources. Generates analytics to support these positions.

Directly manages complex negotiations with key suppliers that require a detailed strategic plan and that have a direct correlation with Corporate operational needs and/or goals. Decision maker and subject matter expert for risk management allowances, terms/conditions, pricing; and collaborative partner for matters of product engineering, supply chain, quality & regulatory, transportation, and global trade.

Manages the development of and adherence to policies/procedures to ensure goods and services are available to business units and collaborates closely with quality/regulatory and supply chain to ensure working practices are implemented that ensure sufficient inventory levels and/or supply chain availability to support all events to avoid negative budgetary/P&L impacts.

Supports the talent development of inter-departmental team members and the overall development of cross-functional teams (including global sourcing resources located in other regions). Sets the example and conducts training sessions for negotiations, financial reviews, business analytics and general management, and is a role model of ethical behavior. Establishes and trains staff on methodologies for change management, contract reviews and supply base optimization.

Provides continuous leadership to business units to assist in the achievement of their goals and the overall corporate strategies/targets across assigned categories. Consults and advises business unit senior leadership teams/executives on the impact of procurement activities on projects, budgets, and select sourced retail goods.

Conducts industry specific research, benchmarking, financial and business analytics for long range pricing and buy rationalizations.

Collaborates with the APAC Region Sourcing and Procurement VP for resource allocation, budgetary control, staff development and sets enterprise wide sourcing plans to effectively assist in the attainment of the company\xe2\x80\x99s P&L. Part of the VPs senior leadership team and directs department in conjunction or absence of the departmental VP.

Requirements

15+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management, Sourcing, Procurement or related areas

BA or BS, Advanced Degree may be required

Leadership experience to managers and experienced professional staff

Healthcare/Medical industry experience is a plus
