Job Overview

The Product Marketing Manager is directly responsible for the go-to-market strategy of a product or strategic project driving sales growth, margin and share of wallet growth within an assigned product portfolio, segment, or strategic growth project across AFAP with speed.
Their primary responsibility is to develop the market strategy (where to play, target customer pipeline), be the expert in the market (e.g., competitive landscape, buying factors) and in the product itself. They are also responsible to ensure that the market understands the value of the product and to drive customer demand and product adoption. Important for success in the role will be the ability to drive sales, operational and technical alignment behind aspirational growth goals.
In addition, the Product Marketing Manager helps position the product before it is launched, or a new functionality is released and works closely with R&D to communicate customer needs and develop a product innovation roadmap. They also identify target customers, hands-on execution support to customers, sales and marketing teams and industry associations across the Region.
The Product Marketing Manager will be support in this important growth role by:

  • A Global Product Manager who leads a consolidated global view of opportunities and target customers, initial development of the value proposition and pricing framework, initial capacity planning if restricted and product positioning.
  • Sales teams located in AFAP’s business units (in country) as well as Point of Contact within target business units
  • Cross functional subject matter experts in R&D, marketing, operations, and technology leveraging (transfer).

The Product Marketing Manager is expected to have a high degree of independency and accountability for the Product launch and sales within the principles and approach of Amcor’s Value Plus commercial excellence program and Launch Excellence Playbook.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the operating processes, gaining quick traction through a pipeline to pursue and go to market strategy and create internal awareness and excitement about the function and how it accelerates growth. They are responsible for communicating BU and Regional (Pan Asia) needs are taken on board globally; and if a gap is identified, communicate the gap and what needs to be true to R&D so that the gap is closed.
This leadership role is a key contributor to the development of the team, marketing as a function, and the diversification and growth of Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific (AFAP). This role is a potential successor to the Marketing Director role.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum of 7-8 years relevant work experience in B2B product marketing experience with ability to independently lead the agenda
  • Solid understanding of the packaging industry preferred and experience in B2B marketing is non negotiable
  • Understanding of customer journey would be an added advantage.
  • Detailed oriented with strong project management skills on multi-market projects
  • Experience in demand generation, lead generation and nurturing is essential.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English is a must (bi-lingual communication would be an added advantage)


Education and Certifications

  • University degree in a relevant discipline – Degree; Honors; Masters; MBA (preferred)
