Project Manager (Marine) (3-year renewable contract) & RequirementsThe Project Manager of the Technical Service Department will be leading a team of local and foreign workers and reporting directly to the General Manager.Roles & Responsibilities. Deal with customers, superintendents, ship owners/ makers etc.. Sales promotion of technical services. Plan, schedule, and follow up technical services for vessels and marine products at workshop/ shipyard/ PSA/ Anchorage/ overseas, etc.. Prepare quotation and invoice for technical service and spare parts supply etc.. On-board attendance for proper work completion, scheduling and quality control.. Inventory management for stock of spare parts in the Company.. Manage and control safety, quality, scheduling and cost for engineers and relevant parties.. Delegate, inform work policy and confirm specifications to the engineer in charge and all members.. Check ship's schedule and give instructions to arrange all necessary preparation such as tools, boat service, work permit, custom clearances, delivery notes, etc.. Give instructions to apply for a work permit in shipyards.. Attend inspection by customer's supervisor, ship's staff and classification surveyor, including sea trial.. Plan the counter-measures against the defects that occurred.. Provide and submit Corrective and Prevention measures for Management.. Educate Quality Standard and Control to engineers and technicians.. Plan project budget to be achieved (i.e. manpower, material, expenses, etc.). Project Management - liaise with all parties involved in the projects, including subcontractors, consultants, authorities and clients; responsible for project planning control, administration and procurement; and attend all necessary meetings conducted by the main contractor and other parties.. Personnel Management - Check Cash Claims from Technical Managers, Assistant Technical Managers, Engineers, and Technicians. - Involve/ make decisions in the recruitment, promotion, and reduction of technical staff in the Technical Service Department. - Approve staff leave applications within Technical Service Department. - In charge of the Company's yearly appraisal of the technical staff. - Provide Internal Training for the Technical staff. - Provide supervision and mentoring to the technical staff. - Lead meetings within Technical Service Department. - Other personnel actions within the Technical Department as and when required.. The Project Manager will be the company representative of the after-service station for the following Japanese marine products for all customers in Southeast Asia, including India. (Grab)Required Qualifications & Skills The Project Manager will be dealing with mainly Japanese customers. Knowledge of the Japanese language is preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture/ Marine / Mechanical Engineering / Marine Engineering or relevant disciplines At least five (5) years of working experience in a shipyard or ship repair field or similar capacity from marine/ heavy industries Able to work at height and handle heavy equipment/ spare parts Able to work late at times and possess leadership qualities
