Project Manager is responsible for owning a complex delivery portfolio through the phases of a project lifecycle, from initial opportunity through to successful handover into business-as-usual operations, with a focus on meeting Project commitments including early revenue, through strong leadership and pragmatism.
Lead a matrix-team of multi-talented people from across geographical locations, cultures and organisations, including Vodafone, its vendors and its customers;
Operate at a strategic level, to establish and manage; budgets, deliverables, milestones and timescales for the portfolio to ensure all contractual obligations are met & portfolio benefits are measured;
Deliver multi-tower technical solutions into enterprise customer estates;
Create Project plans and schedules to support and track milestone delivery, using tasks, dependencies and timeframes;
Execute Project governance and chair both operational and strategic Project review boards;
Manage the Project budget through regular finance tracking;
Provide high level Project reports to key stakeholders;
Record Project data in a central system;
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders;
Close Projects and record lessons to promote resilience and continuous improvement; and
Promote the use of digital tools over manual processes and handoffs.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
Previous experience
An extensive track record of delivering complex customer projects within a fast-paced ICT or Telecommunications industry;
Delivery of Fixed Connectivity projects at regional customer locations;
Experience of working in a highly matrixed, Agile organisation; and
Demonstrated leading large Project teams successfully.
Tools
Strong digital skills across the whole O365 suite including PowerApps and PowerBI; and
Knowledge of using other project support tools; such as SharePoint & project management tools e.g. Planview/SAP.
Communication
Excellent interpersonal, organisational, communication and presentation skills, especially when working with remote team members and internal and external stakeholders;
Established team player with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders;
A self-starter with a determination to succeed, balanced with appropriate tact and diplomacy;
Ability to manage resources from a distance who work for other organisations;
Competent in presenting to senior stakeholders; and
Ability to manage conflict.
