Administer blood-drawing with appropriate technique and ensure all ancillary steps and procedures, such as Infection Prevention and Control (\xe2\x80\x9cIPC") protocol and proper handling of specimens are adhered to. Discharge all responsibilities stated in Phlebotomy section as required.
Assist in other areas of the health screening session as required and as directed by the Team Lead, including but not limited to, taking biometric measurements, blood pressure and pulse readings.
Ensure relevant participant particulars and all health screening data are recorded promptly to minimize errors and lapses.
Appropriately discharge participants, including those who do not require healthcoaching, at the final station.
Health Coaching
Prepare and organize coaching materials in advance to ensure a smooth and effective coaching session by familiarizing with the content and topics to be covered.
Administer health and lifestyle questionnaires, take biometric measurements, blood pressure and pulse readings depending on the specific requirements of the health coaching session.
Effectively communicate and interpret health screening results to participants.
Create holistic health action plans in partnership with participants, with specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely health goals that align with their individual needs.
Employ appropriate/relevant counselling techniques to motivate participants to make changes towards a healthier lifestyle. Use experiential learning methods to impart application-based knowledge on healthy living and equip participants with basic skills/techniques to address health issues arising from daily work-related health issues (e.g., guiding participants in physical activities such as stretching, exercises, etc).
Conduct the coaching sessions in one-to-one or group settings, face-to-face or virtual formats, with discretion regarding personal health information unless explicitly raised by the participants themselves in a confidential manner.
Confirm next appointment with participant as required and follow-up with them accordingly. Ensure virtual coaching sessions (phone-call or video call) are recorded for audit and verification purpose.
Phlebotomy
Independently verify patient\'s identity prior to drawing blood, and confirm patient\'s purpose for drawing blood, to ensure that the procedure would be administered to the correct patient, and that the correct amount of blood would be drawn into the relevant containers.
Administer blood-drawing with appropriate technique whilst minimizing risks, trauma, discomfort and injuries to the patient. Ensure that only the required amount of blood is drawn. Any spillage and wastage should be strictly minimised.
Ensure the proper bagging and labelling of blood specimens, including verification of label details with the patient, and that patient record is updated on the blood drawn.
Vaccination
Independently verify patient\'s identity prior to administering of vaccine, and confirm patient\'s purpose for vaccination, to ensure that the correct vaccine and dosage would be administered to the correct patient.
Perform various screening and diagnostic tests to ascertain patient\'s suitability and eligibility for vaccination based on vaccination and medical history.
Independently prepare and reconstitute (if required) vaccines and check that it is not expired.
Administer the vaccine in a safe manner with appropriate technique whilst risks, trauma, discomfort and injuries to the patient. Ensure correct vaccine and dosage is being administered. Any spillage and wastage should be strictly minimised.
Ensure patient record is updated on vaccination provided, and provide post vaccination advice to patient.
Manage vaccine inventory, including but not limited to, maintaining integrity of vaccines via proper cold chain storage and monitoring them regularly as set out in SOPs, escalating expiring vaccines to management, avoiding holding on to excess vaccine supplies, ordering of re-supply only where necessary, and proper disposal of expired vaccines.
Requirements
Be a Registered Staff Nurse with a valid practicing certificate from the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
Hold a valid BCLS and AED certificate and able to perform acute emergency care if necessary
Provide first aid to participants who require medical attention
Possess knowledge of health promotion topics, particularly HPB messages, and platforms such as HPB\'s Healthy 365 app and HealthHub
Completed a recognized training program or course in phlebotomy
Demonstrate proficiency in drawing blood and handling specimens intended for laboratory analysis
Possess knowledge of basic laboratory procedures and equipment
Possess a professional demeanour and conduct themselves with integrity and respect towards all participants, staff, contractors, and partners
Display adaptability and flexibility to work efficiently in diverse settings with changing demands and schedules
Knowledge of and ability to follow infection control guidelines and protocols, and comply with local and national regulations related to blood collection and handling
Be familiar with vaccination preparation including cold chain management, dilution and record-keeping
Have sound technical knowledge in administering vaccinations - aseptic techniques, documentation, patient screening and counselling
Be disciplined in the management of biohazards and infection
Have the ability to establish a rapport with the clients and ensure that they receive the vaccination comfortably
Be a mature and objective lead, possess leadership quality and positive interpersonal skills.
Able to travel accross whole Singapore as the Health Screening and Health Coaching projects requires to travel when project is being assigned to.
