What the role is:In alignment with CNB's mission to Enforce, Educate and Engage for a drug-free Singapore, the CNB Psychological Unit conducts drug-related research to support CNB in developing, implementing and evaluating evidence-informed policies, practices and programmes related to drug prevention, enforcement, supervision and rehabilitation in Singapore. This, in turn, contributes towards bolstering the defensibility of Singapore's strong anti-drug policies.What you will be working on:As Psychologist, Prevention Science Research, the incumbent will be responsible in supporting the Bureau's cause through drug prevention science research. These can come in the forms of: (i) understanding Singapore's needs in the drug prevention landscape, (ii) knowledge of best practices in drug prevention and (iii) developing and evaluating evidence-informed drug prevention strategies and efforts. The incumbent is also expected to co-ordinate with the relevant stakeholders within the Bureau and other relevant Ministry and community partners. This is crucial in informing CNB's drug prevention efforts, such as preventive drug education and intervention, to ensure that evidence-informed practices are implemented and evaluated.What we are looking for:The Job Holder should possess: - Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative research (e.g., literature review; study design; collection, management, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data; and interpretation of results) - Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g. SPSS) - Strong communication skills in presenting data for stakeholders and providing practical recommendations We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified for the interview.About MHA- Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB):Central Narcotics Bureau keeps Singapore safe from drug abuse through: enforcement action against drug traffickers and abusers, leading and co-ordinating preventive drug education, assisting and forging a national consensus of zero tolerance towards drug abuse and identifying and recommending new legislative and other measures.
